    Default SW online personal trainers

I'm newly single and seriously want to look great and make my body look fab. But i lack motivation soo much. i have about 50 pounds to lose so i havea long way to go
I thought it might be a nice idea if anyone was in the same boat as me, or if anyone has recently done some sort of plan, could maybe post tips and advice?

maybe we could post pics of our progress or something?

The best advice I can give is be both persistant AND patient.

When I started making a concerted effort to lose I was kinda bummed out because it seemed like I was barely losing anything. There's a weird kind of stalling stage in the beginning, especially if you are working on building muscle as well as losing weight, where you lose a few lbs and then seem to stay there.

Then it starts to come off easier.

I started with about 40 minutes of cardio (which I would tend to break up into 20 minute increments) and then some strength building (chin ups, push ups, crunches and squats with weights). I tried to fit in a work out 5 days a week.

Now I really only do strength building via weights and the above mentioned exercises 3 days a week.

Try and watch what you eat. I tend to be a grazer and eat all day. I made sure I had stuff like salad, cut up raw vegies, fruit, yogurt, hummus etc around so if I wanted to eat there was something decent to stuff in my face.

It took me around 6-7 months to go from 145lbs to 115lbs. I've maintained my weight without any gain (outside of the ususal water weight around my period) for almost a year I think.

    Good luck!

I freaking love SW. My first few posts on SW were when I was about 75-80lbs overweight and well...now I'm about 30lbs overweight. SW helped me lose almost 50lbs. This place is the best. I swear.

So I was in the same boat as you...actually...worse off than you.

Between Tonalin and small meals all day long and cardio and PoleFitness...you'll make a new body on here. I promise you.

Through my ups and downs of exercising I've learned consistency is key. That applies to both exercising and meals. I've found that eating the same thing for 2-3 days works and then switching. That way you know how many calories you are always eating. Also, mixing up your cardio is wonderful. Try that new gym class, go for a hike or bike ride. You'll end up burning a ton of calories while having fun.

I would defiinitely be in on this.

I have about 20lbs to loose, total, to get back to 105. I need to loose at least 10 before I can dance again, and am very stressed out about this.

I've never been on a diet before (well, unless you count anorexia haha) and feel lost and clueless.

I totally co-sign this. Variety is not the spice of life in my diet. It spells disaster in my diet.

I just made a bunch of chicken breasts, and white meat ground turkey meatloaf. I portioned them out into little Rubbermaid containers and put them in the freezer. I always buy frozen veggies and I will add 2 cups of either spinach, green beans, or broccoli into each little dish when I heat them up. I will add in either 1/2c brown rice or 1/2c chinese noodles for carbs. This is ALWAYS my dinner, and each dish has the same amount of calories. Approx 400 calories.

My breakfast is ALWAYS yogurt, 6 boiled egg whites, and fresh fruit. Approx 300 calories.

Snacks are 1 piece of toast with a thin thin layer of peanut butter...or 2 sugar free fruit cups with 1/4c yogurt and 1/4 granola mixed in. Approx 150-200 calories two snacks a day.

Lunch varies...and because lunch varies...it's the easiest meal for me to fuck up. I need to start having two Medifast Cappuccino's for lunch. Get in some very low calorie protein and vitamins.

In a regular lifestyle...1500 calories works and works well.

Amber i think that sounds totally healthy and on point!
I on the other NEED variety.
Eating the same things over and over make me unhappy and then i binge.
So i have to keep LOTS of healthy options easily available.
Last night i made a HUGE veggie tray and prepped some fruit so its ready to eat out of the fridge.
For breakfast this am i had a red pepper and turkey egg beater omlet with a light multi grain english muffin with a thin thin layer of humus and some salsa.
    It was yummy and filling

I kinda have to agree when you are in the beginning, but if you are in mid stage and don't need a your hand held, switching is a great thing, plus it keeps you from straying.

One day for breakfast I will have eggs and grapfruit, and the next chicken and berries, and the next peanut butter on waffles, and the next protein powder mixed in my oatmeal.

After I learned exactly what I could and couldn't eat, I started mixing it up, but I don't count calories or fats; only sugars and protein, and make sure my foods are natural whole foods.

Thank you so much for the replies im already gettin ideas!
    Here was something i was thinking of doing;
    A 60 min kickboxin dvd(its quite intense)
8 min abs, arms, bun, legs and streches
I can swim maybe once a week(due to my work schedule)
playboy workout tape( i like the boot camp)

So im workin 11-7am tonight all alone in an office, so i was thinkin of doin the kickboxin dvd and maybe the 8 min vids, would something like this be a good source of exercise?
I do like to graze a lot, in fact nibbles and deli style food is my fave.
Is it possible to chop up some fruit and maybe bag it and freeze it and defrost it for the next day? So rather than reachin for bad stuff i have healthy snacks

I LOVE choc but im quite good with that i only have the dark choc with 70%cocoa solids and i keep it in a bag in the freezer and ger a couple of squares out so it is super hard and lasts me longer.
I drink a ton (bout 2 litres a day)of water at work(im on a switchboard so i get very thirsty)
I love veg with my meals so chicken and veg is a very easy thing for me to eat and i love jacket potatoes with beans(no butter)
I guess im more of a boredom eater so thats what i have to watch, when im startin to get bored maybe i should do a few star jumps or something lol

Yes totally bag up fruit, it's awesome for a post workout refresher, plus it will cool your body down after raising your temp!

Chocolate is BAD! Even at 70% cacao. Some diets will allow it, but mine will not. I am only allowed 9 grams of sugar a day, so I would rather use it somewhere else, than in a nibble of chocolate.

Totally do something while you are bored, it will take your mind off boredom eating, and burn fat both. Also you can drink a large glass of water to alleviate hunger till it's time to eat again.

LOL, it's ok; I know how ya feel!

I called my trainer/asked him what's cool and what's not every day for well over a month, and wrote down what he said was cool.

Your diet is probably less harsh than mine, so you would naturally have more choices. Not only do I follow Kosher as much as I can, I also have a low sugar, lower fat, no processed food, natural whole foods type diet.

    My protein choices:
chicken, steak (any beef really), deer, turkey, duck, salmon, tuna, bass, natural organic peanut butter, protein powders and bars, almonds and some other nuts, and eggs.

    Breads:
whole cracked wheat, wheat wrap bread, kashi go lean waffles, triscuts, kashi autumn wheat cereal, oatmeal (not instant)

    veggies:
baby spinach, green peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, red potatoes (ONLY RED), zucchini, cucumbers, asparagus, brussels sprouts, cabbage, leaf lettuce, red onions

    fruits:
apples, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, grapefruit, mango and kiwi bananas ONLY post workout and only one a day.

Tons of water, and I can occasionally have diet sodas, and sugar free red bulls. I also don't drink any alcohol.

But like I said, your diet isn't as strict, since you can have more sugars, and you can eat dairy as well. Just make a list like I did above, and then mix and match each meal till you have a good variety and it's second nature.

^^^^A mix and match menu is a very good idea! Thanks

I can probably put it together in a couple hours and then use it to plan my meals.
