Default Good cheap drug-store brand fake eyelashes

Sorry, I know there are a lot of fake lash threads but I couldn't find what I was looking for. So forgive me if this is a repeat.

OK, I never played with fakies before so I think it's time for me to start doing so. What is a good brand of fakes and glue that I can find at a drug store? I'm on a budget & i'm trying hard on saving money...so i'm cutting a lot of expensive maintnance products(I spend a shit load, blah).... but I think fakies might be worth it to make $$$. I need to start practicing now.

Also, can they be uses again after taking them off?

If I see i'm not that good on applying these shits then i'm going to get the extensions at a salon somewhere... but later on.

I use aredell. Mostly cuz that's my only option of 100% human hair lashes but thats also the brand of individual lashes I used in beauty school.

Most makeup artists use (Ardell) Duralash which you can get at a drug store or beauty supply store and they are cheap. (check out drugstore.com). I like the individuals more than strips.

Once you're not on a budget, I really recommend a splurging on a bottle of Revitalash. I've had the same bottle for six months. It made my lashes grow really long, now I use it just once a week to maintain. Much easier than extensions IMO. There might even be cheaper versions of Revitlash out there.

Rite Aid, CVS, etc sell them. I use Aredell too but usually I get them from Sally Beauty Supply. You should be able to get lashes and the glue for under $10 and yes, you can reuse them but when they start to clump together from the glue and just look like shit, throw them out.

Wow!! Check out how Revitalash was invented....

    The RevitaLash Story

It all began because a husband wanted to give his wife a very special gift...

RevitaLash™ was developed by Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff as a special gift for his wife, Gayle, while she was recovering from breast cancer. Intensive chemotherapy treatments had damaged Gayle’s once-beautiful eyelashes, leaving them sparse, breakable and fragile.

After extensive research with a team of talented cosmetic chemists, Dr. Brinkenhoff formulated an eyelash conditioner that, after just a few weeks, gave a renewed look of vitality to Gayle’s eyelashes.

Soon friends and family wanted to know Gayle’s secret to beautiful looking eyelashes. Gayle knew immediately the perfect name for the amazing eyelash conditioner that had given her eyelashes a renewed look of vitality: RevitaLash™.

Thus, a new product was born; and a formula created originally for just one special woman has become a product available to women everywhere who want to have beautiful looking eyelashes.

Gayle and Michael are committed to donating a portion of the proceeds from RevitaLash™ sales to benefit non-profit breast cancer research and education initiatives.

"Often we feel helpless when someone we love is suffering. I am very fortunate, in my own small way, to have been able to help Gayle through her recovery. Watching her be excited about her beautiful looking eyelashes has been a real joy."

    — Michael Brinkenhoff, M.D.

I use Ardell. 105 is a good one that's not too long, pretty thick but still natural looking. 111 is nice too, longer than the 105s.

Ardell's are anywhere between $4-$5. You can also try NYC lashes, which are usually $2. They are sturdier than Ardells IMO (although Ardells have no complaints from me- they also have a bigger selection).
NYC lashes can be found at most Targets and Ulta. Also I gotten them for less than $2 when Ulta has their NYC brand sales.

I use Ardell 116..... for nights out on the town. They are dramatic but not fake looking.

Also, a clear latex eyelash glue is your best bet (I use DUO brand glue).

Both cost about $4. The glue lasts foreverrrrrr.... you only use a bit each time you apply lashes. And the lashes themselves, can be re-used till they look beat up.

The glue sure does last forever, I've gone through at least 60 pairs with just one tube. I also buy my lashes at http://www.madamemadeline.com for a little over $2 each.

I use lashes that don't even have a brand! They're like, $2.50 a pair, I can usually stretch them for six to eight wearings too.

They come on a white tray with no wrapping whatsoever, I get them at Rave's Oh My Goth.

Or else my Manic Panic ones kick ass, but they ain't cheap, lol.

Cherry are HANDS DOWN the best drugstore lashes out there.. Ardell a close second.

It really doesn't matter which brand though. The same factory makes most of the anyway, the most important thing is the glue.

DUO is only glue that us fellow makeup artists use.

Ok Duo glue it is then. I'm just so scared to fuck up my real lashes, that's prob. one of the reasons why I never bothered with fakies.

I'm with you, Vyanka. I've never played with fakies, either, and I know I really need to. I want to be able to put them on like a pro one day. Guess I better start practicing. Thanks for the input, gals.

It's really hard to rip out your own lashes, don't worry.

I've only used the cheapies. Meh, it works, just takes a little practice. I'm intrigued by the revitalash stuff.

Just don't get into the habit of pulling the lashes off when you're done. Use either lash remover/makeup remover or mineral/baby oil. I use oil from the kitchen (olive or safflower).

i found this beauty supply store in oakland that sells the BEST lashes (i think they might be cherry, not sure though) for $1.49 a pair. there are like 15 different sizes and styles to choose from. i usually buy like 5 packs at a time because they are so cheap....thanks for the reminder....must buy some new ones tomorrow.

Me too! I love the 105s but I wish there was one just like them but thicker! I always end up using two pairs of them.
