I have never bed tanned or fake tanned a day in my life and my money is fine.
Hard to answer. If I'm pasty I don't do well, but a light fake tan seems to be as good as a dark tan. So, yes it can, but I really do just as well as long as I don't look ghostly.
im just sick of spending my money on fake stinky tanners or expensive tanning packages....
^^I feel ya there. Unless you get washed out I doubt it would make a difference money wise. If I was feeling run-down and looking scary instead of healthy, milky white, that's when my money suffered. I only really tanned to disguise some of the fat on my hiney.
I'm translucent, and used to self-tan religiously, until I noticed it had no effect on my money. Guys comment sometimes, but it's like, during a dance, or while tipping me. So![]()

I never tan. I'm a redhead so I have the whole pale, porcelain thing going. The men seem to dig it, too. I get lots of compliments on my creamy complexion. I have no plans to ever tan for work.

Guy's always complement me on my *natural* black hair, pale skin and blue eyes, when I tan I still make the same minus the pale part.
Unless the real barbie glam look is what you're rocking, I doubt it really matters.

I used to get airbrush tans for work, but I really didn't notice a difference in my money at all so I quit doing it. I have very fair skin-I even noticed one night at work when I was ordering a drink at the bar (it has black lights underneath where the bar sticks out) and my legs were freaking glowing! Talk about pale skin. Yikes!
^Yeah. I do wear glowy stuff, always, to compensate for my paleness. It's a great way to fake a tan (until you're naked, lol).

I make more. But I rock a bit of a surfer girl image.
The world's most uncoordinated stripper

no affects
I just started usiong L'oreal's sublime. Ive been out for a week, and we'll see if there's any difference. I think not, but we'll see.

Nearly every girl at my club wears this really dark bronzer stuff. I just use it when at work and it washes off. My skin doesn't tan so i dont bother with solariums.
Im not sure whether it affects my money or not coz i've never worked without it hehe. But I picked yes in the poll coz im too chicken shit not to wear it - makes the body look so much better.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

For me it's a confidence thing. Without a tan, I feel way too "goth girl" since I have black hair and like to wear black outfits.
I feel sexier with color which leads to higher confidence which leads to better performance which leads to better money. This is just me though, I know a lot of pale girls who make good money.

Jaizaine : Can I ask what you use ?
I do beds 15 minutes every week or two just so I don't look bright white and always use self tanner.
I voted no, it doesn't make me more. I am quite pale- I've worked with a tan and without, and I make the same. I don't know if this is true for everyone, but the people who seem to care the most if you go tanning and comment....are the other girls. LOL. But since they aren't paying me, who cares? Oh, also I've found it varies by where you work- if you work in more of a "redneck" kind of bar, the customers care more if you tan. At a more "classy" place, they will appreciate fair skin more. That's just what I've found in my experience.
I actually make more $$ with my natural fair skin. Every once in awhile, when I get bored with my look, I'll get a (fake) tan...but tbh my natural skin color suits me better, so I always end up going back to it. And I get lots of compliments on it from custies, I stand out among a sea of bronzed strippers, and it makes me look more exotic and different. In my 3 years of dancing I've only had ONE custy tell me to get a tan.
Usually whenever I get in an "I feel too pale" phase, I'll change my hair color (lighten and warm it up) instead of my skin color. For some reason (less contrast, perhaps?) that makes my skin look less pale.
But whenever I do ANYthing different with my look, I always get an initial money boost. Whether it's changing my skin tone, hair style/color, new outfits, new makeup, new music onstage...
I make more money when I have a good tan. It could be confidence, it could just be adding to my "look," it could be both.

I use the L'Oreal Sublime Glow and Jergens tanning lotion occasionally and it doesn't change my earnings one way or another. Actually, other dancers are the only ones who seem to notice if I'm tanned or not!
