I was at a theme park over the weekend, and saw a young girl who could have been no more than 9 or 10 years old, wearing a t-shirt that said, "I'm in your boyfriend's top 8"
Does anyone else think that maybe that's not so cool?

i defintly think thats wrong she is to young to even understand what that means.
I think that particular saying is harmless although slightly innappropriate. If it was something like "I'll be using THESE to my advantage" or a blatent sexual or drug reference I might have felt differently. Kids that age are just boy crazy and I don't think they really understand what relationships are and I doubt she really meant the shirt in any serious fashion. Kids just love myspace and are boy crazy. I'm sure they are talking about boys with each other and mimicking older girls. Its what I did at that age and I didn't have a boyfriend until I was 16 although my friends would tease each other about crushes and stupid things.
I think those parents should be charged with misdemeanor child neglect, frankly.
Definitely inappropriate...but damn funny on a hotter chick.

I guess I just think most wearers of t shirts don't really support the meaning on them at all. Its just a shirt.
If she was wearing something cut more revealing I think their would be more cause for alarm. At least in a tee shes covered.
I guess my problem with it was that this girl was 9 or 10 at absolute most. She could have been younger. Definitely pre-pubescent.

Once at Starbucks I saw a girl who was probably around the same age 8-10
with a thong visibly sticking out of her short skirt, a ton of makeup, and
huge high heeled sandals on.
It was pretty sad to see a kid that young dressed like that.
I'm always shocked when I see middle schoolers in Victoria's Secret or Fredericks buying sexy thongs and crotchless underwear....like who the hell are they wearing that for?
I think when you consider that you're not even supposed to be on MySpace before 14, the shirt was basically saying, "Your boyfriend, who is at least 5 years older than me, thinks my pre-pubescent self is hot". There's SO many shirts out there, I just don't understand why her mother felt that would be a good choice

The only thing inappropriate about it to me is the boyfriend part. Otherwise its just a myspace reference right?
I think anyone wearing those tee shirts look like dumbasses. I dont like them.
But I think it's parent's being clueles,s not knowing what it means and lets the kid have it and the kid probably dont know what it means either....although I wouldnt be suprised if an 8 year old was on myspace.

IT's disgusting.

Not only does it promote entitlement behaviour it also suggests pedophilia, ROCKIN!
My favourite is the kid's (5-section in target with shirts like, "I'll be your cherry pie" and "hot buns". Oh yeah.

Maybe...but a 10 year old with a t-shirt referencing a boyfriend? 10 year olds should be wearing t-shirts with like, Barbie or something...Hanna Montana...not MySpace/boyfriend references. I call idiot/bad parenting. Probably the type that will let their daughter have an unsupervised computer in her room.

^haha! Agreed.
I think the parents are just 1.) shitty parents or 2.) clueless. Possibly both.
