Default Stopping Birth Control Pills and Side Effects

I just recently gave up on using hormonal birth control. My long term relationship went kaput and I became concerned about using hormones for so long.

However, holy batman has my acne been horrible and my cramps feel like I'm splitting in half. I have a zit so big on my cheek that my eye is kind of swelling shut and I look like Quasimodo. I've never had anything like this even before I used bc pills.

Has anyone else stopped taking them after using them for a few years? Did it take some time before your body got back in check?

Yep. My skin went nuts too but I felt heaps better. I had been taking BC pills for ten years straight because I was getting ovarian cysts all the time. Hormonal birth control can make you feel kinda crappy but you don't notice because you get used to it. It took about six months for my hormones to even out after I started using barrier methods instead.

I stopped taking BCP in January, since then I look like a 15 year old boy, my face is all messed up with acne, I never had acne not even when I was a teen, 1 zit once in a while but not like this, now I get it even on my eyelids. About a week ago I got Proactiv and its helping. My zits are healing and new ones arent coming out but it dries my skin out as hell so I started putting my reg day cream on top of their lotion and during the night I started using my reg night cream.

i was on it 3 years straight and this is the third month off.
My skin was horrible for the first month or so....still getting straightened out but its improved a lot. I was having pain when i ovulated but that didn't happen this last time. And i had the worst cramps/pain of my life about a week ago on the 1st day of my period.......so i cant say if that gets better or not yet
