    Default Implants and Pole Work

I have always been athletic and very comfortable doing pole work.
BUT I got my boobs done- under the muscle- 3 months ago and now I get a very uncomfortalbe pulling sensation everytime I try to climb the pole.
My ps told me that I should be back to normal at 6 weeks, and I do feel good in other aspects, but my chest muscles must not be healed. Im hoping they are not permanantly damaged

For thoes with implants, how long before you felt 100% AND were able to climb the pole like normal again.
    thanks ladies

I'm 5 months post op and I still havent resumed pole work. I used to be a competitive pole dancer too so I def miss it. I stopped coz one night I did a simple spin and it pulled on my chest and it felt weird. Then I saw a girl with really fucked up implants and she said it was from pole work.

All the girls I have spoken to say 6 months before resuming pole work. Plastic surgeons dont realise how much strength is involved.

6 months is what almost everyone on here says, and I totally agreed. One night I was feeling good and did a simple spin. I felt a pole and that was enough to scare the shit outta me. So I'm not hitting the pole for 6 months (5 to go) and not doing any major climbs for 7 months.

when I do pole tricks, going upside down and such, my implants show a little on the bottom. and they have started to ripple. some girls say its from lifting too much weight-the pressure the muscle puts on the implants is squishing them and causing the rippling and causing them to show.
Im going to the dr. on thurs. to see if i can get the problem fixed. let you know what's up then.

I feel a wierd pulling sensation when I do pole tricks. I got mine done on 3/29/07 and I still haven't gotten back on the pole. I tried a pole trick 3-4 months afterwards and it was very uncomfortable. Its still uncomfortable now when I do them, until my boobies get used to it. I am not nearly as strong as I was pre implants either. I would reccomend waiting 6 months as well, and starting off slowly.

If it doesn't feel good - don't do it. If it hurts - definitely don't do it.
I noticed that they just felt "gross" when doing pole work but got used to the feeling.

i think i may have a problem with my left implant due to all the pole work i do since its under the muscle. it just happens to be the hand i hold most of my weight with.

I noticed that my boobs would get distorted into a funky shape when I would climb the pole, so that alone has kept me on the ground in the 5+ years that I've had my under the muscle implant.

Take it easy until they are totally healed to the point where you think of them as YOUR breasts, not implants. That's usually 4-6 months, after all the surgery drama/pain/healing is over.

I wonder how long the girl with the really fucked up implants waited before resuming pole work? That is pretty sad, hopefully she can get them "repaired".

Why spend all that money just to throw it away for a few pole tricks? I don't have them because I knew that I would have to sit it out for a while and I knew that would be unbearable for me, especially now that I teach!

I have been traveling the country for 12 years and rarely do I see a dancer with implants that don't do something weird when they climb a pole! I just went to a feature contest to support some of our agency's girls and noticed that one of our features had to wear a 1/2 bra for the song that she did pole tricks because her implants seperated everytime she lifted! They are less than a year old and they are GORGEOUS until she climbs that pole!

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY, would you ruin them for a few pole tricks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love boobies, I am not against them. I am VERY MUCH against ruining them! VERY PASSIONATE about it! DONT DO IT DONT DO IT DONT DO IT! STAY AWAY FROM THAT POLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have implants but I've actually experienced the pulling sensation. When I first started polework (well learning) I felt my muscles definately pulling. Not to the point where it hurt though. Later, I noticed a long threadlike appearance in my boob when I lifted my arms up. I went to the Doctor who also performed a mammogram. It turns out it was just pulled muscle and tissue. This was over a year ago, and my boobs and muscles are back to normal. And I still continue to do polework. I assume your body just needs to get used to the new "workout."

Recovery time depends on type of surgery....so does the reaction of the muscle and implant.

the "tearing" or "pulling" feeling is the scar tissue seperating under the aerola, and the muscle developing to compensate...no major concern at this point....as long as you are OFF the pole till at least 5-6 months.

I teach..I will not allow a girl into my class before 3 months after a BA. AND..that is only to do transitions..NO LIFTING OR SWINGS! For advanced...any aerial stunts..the BA must be at least 1 year old.

In actuality, it takes up to a year for the body to COMPLETELY heal...muscles, nerves, equilibrium, etc.

My implants are almost 9 yrs old now, I had them filled past capacity to stop the muscle lift on the bottom of the breast...I did the 5 months NO POLE on the second surgery..thought I would kill me...but I survived and still made money!

Please remember..holding your arm up in extended positions for extended periods of time can shift an implant, so can floor work...so it is not just about the pole tricks...it is the pole and floor. Basically anywhere you need to use your arms!

to be completely honest, i stopped doing pole tricks when i got my implants. i can do a simple spin, but i dont climb the pole anymore. because i have a permanent injury, i use more chest muscles to compensate, so i put even more wear and tear on my implants. if you go under the muscle, pole work can distort them. i work with some ladies who are incredible at the pole who have wanted implants and i told them not to do it or they need to be prepared to stop using the pole. their best option would be to go over the muscle, where you can still do pole tricks, but you run the risk of rippling and having very fake looking breasts. if you have strong tight chest muscles (like the ladies i mentioned) overs usually will not look good. overs are a better option for women who already have something up there, such as sagging from breastfeeding or previously having implants.

a long time ago, i went on implantinfo.com and read about a woman in the military who had implants. she went over the muscle due to the fact that she had to perform fitness tests and going under would have distorted them and most likely caused a rupture, due to the pressure on the implants from constant use of the chest muscles.

Good point about the equilibrium. I'm about 2 months out and I am still bumping into things. My balance is very screwed up at this point. Beyond that, I won't even lift a heavy bag or open a heavy door since my boob will feel very weird.

I'm sure this isn't helpful to the OP, but if I was very much into pole-work I would have gone for the sub-glandular implants.

I was fully "healed" within a couple of months BUT as far as lifting and pulling my own bodyweights, I'd say it's taken a good year to feel normal doing these things.

If I didn't mind the look of subglandular on a lean body, I would've gone for that. But I don't have much bodyfat so I went under the muscle. It's a takes a while for things to feel less odd.
