So, after eating this from a Chinese restaurant and not knowing the nutritional content, I thought I'd try to make my own w/the help of internet recipes. Of course, mine tasted nothing like theirs, but it was still pretty good!
It's pretty healthy, filling, and very rich in taste. Also, supposedly seaweed has these great health benefits!
Recipe:
3/4 oz. seaweed (I use a little more)
1 teaspoon sugar (I use equal)
1-3 tablespoons sesame oil (I try to use 1 so it's healthier)
1-2 tablespoons rice vinegar (not seasoned - no sodium/fat/salt/cals)
red flakes (chili flakes or something similar - as many as you want)
minced garlic - as much as you want/don't want
cilantro - dash
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (I use as many as I want)
they also say to use soy sauce, but they said to use 3 tablespoons, which was way too much. it tasted fine w/out it.
anyway, cut up the seaweed and make sure it's not dry. soak it in water for a few minutes if you have to, making sure to drain it well. mix up all of the other ingredients until the sugar/equal has dissolved. mix latter mixture into seaweed and enjoy!
