    Default Nomnomnomsoup.

Campbells tomato soup with full cream and cracked pepper. A little cheese if I'm in the mood.

I usually hate Campbell's soups. Too salty. But I love this on a cool afternoon with a book and some oyster crackers.

    You?

One thing I can cook very well (usually) is soup!
I do a great pumkin soup and leek & potato - both are lovely with a dash of cream stirred through the bowl. Usually out of lazyness I just do an "everything" soup with every vegetable I can find in it, optional meat, beans, rice, barley, wholemeal pasta and lentils. Its a meal and it rocks!!!

I'll make it really thick, then put a dollop of sour cream in the middle, splay it out like a star.

I love Mushroom soups...I'll saute some extra mushrooms to add...and yeah, fresh cracked pepper, lots, on every soup. I like the big chunks of peppercorn, not fine ground.

anytime i have a roast chicken, I always make stock with the bones. I'll put anything in that soup...lentils, beans, different pastas...always cut the vegetable garnish up tiny.

My neighbour does a spicy pumpkin soup, and she serves it in little hollowed out pumpkins. It's a Halloween regular.

eta: it's wild leek time in Ontario...next few weeks.

Pumpkin soup in Australia is more common than tomato. It is SO good for a nice autumn day. More cream and pepper. Oh yeah. Nice chunks of cracked pepper on my milky milky pumpkin.

I make really really good thick pancakes. For your maple syrup.

I use lemon juice and baking soda (neither you can taste) to make them about 1 1/2" thick... and use powdered sugar and real vanilla for my dessert pancakes.

Oh, you can add sweet potato to it as well for a different flavour.
And some nice fresh bread to dip...or fresh sourdough biscuits out of the oven.

yummm...tomato soup is my favorite. Lately I've been making a beef and bok choy soup that comes to a close second. Soup and salad is one of favorite things to have for dinner.

Beef and bok choy?! Do you have a recipe? I had bok choy yesterday and was upset I had neglected such a tasty dark leafy green for so long!

Here you go Lysondra. It's pretty tasty ! The only thing I add that the recipe does not list is some thai spice.

    CHINESE BEEF SOUP

    1 pound head bok choy
    1 pound ground beef
    1 small onion, chopped, 2 1/2 ounces
    1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    4 cups chicken broth
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    Pepper, to taste

Chop the bok choy, keeping the stalks and leaves separate. In a soup pot, brown the ground beef with the onions, mushrooms and garlic; drain the grease. Add the bok choy stalks and cook until almost tender. Add the broth and soy sauce; bring to a boil. Stir in the bok choy leaves and cook until heated through. Season with pepper, to taste.

Makes about 7 cups or 6 servings
Per Serving: 176 Calories; 10g Fat; 18g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; 1.5g Dietary Fiber; 2.5g Net Carbs

It's in the crockpot now. I didn't have soy sauce so I used sesame oil and thai spices. Nomnom.

    I love all mushroom soups!

Pumpkin ginger soup is my favorite right now. I use calabash squash, it's kind of a west indian style soup.

Homemade broth based soups, especially fish soup, is my second fav. Soup is one of my favorite foods. I've now been inspired to make some.

I heart cheese. I must have it in mass quantities. I'm an addict.
