    Default Oily Hair??

Okay so I did a search on this but didn't really find anything. I wash my hair everyday or at least every other day with a high quality shampoo and conditioner. However, most of the time as soon as it dries I look like a dirty hippie who hasn't washed her hair for two weeks!! I don't use any heavy hair products so that can't be the problem. I've tried using a little baby powder but I want my hair to look shiny and clean not powdery so that doesn't help much. Has any one else had a problem with oily hair??

Try baby shampoo or that 'clean rinsing' stuff. Blow dry your hair upside down.

maybe try a beer or apple cider vinegar rinse to strip all the excess styling product/conditioner/soap buildup out?

Instead of baby powder, I found this stuff by Samy- Dry Spray Shampoo... Love it! It's $7 at Ulta and it doesn't leave that powdery look.

Dry Shampoo or Bumble and Bumble hair powder.

My best friend in college had the same problem. A couple of inches right at the scalp always looked greasy.

She fixed it by eliminating silicones and oils near her scalp. Most shampoos, even high end, are loaded with them. She used Tea Tree Shampoo and only used conditioner on her ends. If money was tight she would use Suave or whatever guys dandruff shampoo she could find that didn't smell horrid. C had also tried the baby powder trick and dry shampoo, none of it helped for more than a few hours.

I was told that if you have greasy roots to avoid shampoos that are creamy/white. To make sure it is "see-through". Bc the creamy ones have ingredients that weigh the hair down.

I recommend this product to my clients who have scalp issues from producing too much oil to having flakiness. After using it on clients just once it makes a huge difference.

I used to have this and it was just an over production of oil from me washing my hair TOO much. Try just every other day. The items recommended may temp. fix the problem, but it sounds like you'd like a long(er) term fix. I started to spread out my shampoos, my hair stopped over producing and got to the point where once every 2 days was plenty.

someone suggested conditioning your hair before you shampoo if you have a problem with your hair being lank afterwards.

I haven't tried it, but heck-- it's worth a shot.

besides, you should probably be conditioning from the neck down anyways, and then shampooing your scalp and/or ends if needbe.

I usually get this once it starts getting really hot and humid here.

I used to freak out about it and would wash it all the time and then heard that if you just wait it out and leave it alone for a couple days overtime the hair will adjust. It did. I looked soooo gross thought for a few weeks, but I really think it's worth it.

I like the cooling mint shampoo too. Makes me feel really clean.

I also don't brush my hair. I have really long (almost to my butt) hair and it's never dreaded or anything and I haven't brushed in years. I flip my hair over and use my nails too mess up the hair on my part so it's lifted. and flip it back over. Nothing it more gross to me than limp hair plastered on to peoples head unless you have that really silky hair that just won't hold anything else.
