Sad Can Your Stripper Name Effect Your Money???

    I wonder what people think

for myself I would say yes it does

I usually go by the name miami but when I use normal names like amber or jasmine it seems to work better and i make more money I have no idea why

even tho the name miami has been a great conversation starter for some reason the regular names work better

    what do you think?

I used to have a not so normal name and caught alot of flack for it. I changed to a normal one although the name conversations were less, i made the same amount of $$.

I have a retarded stripper name that probably no normal person under the age of 60 has.

I like my old lady name and customers get a laugh out of it, too.

Money? I don't know as I've only danced under one name. I think my awesome tits make me more money than my name, personally.

It depends. At one club I worked at, there was a super sweet girl there who went by the name Sinful. It didn't work for her at all! She barely wore any makeup, had long straight blonde hair, etc. You wouldn't remember that name with that face. After I left, I heard that she'd changed her name to something like Matilda or Miranda and that she was doing incredibly well -- and that some club regulars didn't even recognize her!

That might be a bit of an extreme case, however.

I don't know about that, but I find it easier having a 'normal' name because it cuts down on the 'that's not your real name' comments..

Yea, I usually go for the "fake" real names. It cuts down on the "that's not your real name"

Plus, I think it depends on the club. When I worked in FL, everyone had "stripper" names. I was "Angel" and that was the closest I ever got to having a stripper name.

I find the only time it ever affected my money was when people would mishear it and then come back and ask for the wrong name. For some reason people used to hear Darcy as "Starsy" and then come in asking for Stacey. Thankfully nobody ever got Ashlee wrong.

I went by Elle for almost 2 years, then I changed it to Dream. Made no difference. I like the stripper name since I already have a "real" stripper name.

i've noticed that it matters some, but it's mostly about it fitting me. i like my name, but i've been meaning to shorten it to something that's more me...and that customers have told me sounds better.

I like to take polls through out my night to keep things interesting and one night my question to all the guys was "what do you think about typical obviously fake stripper names and ones that seem real".

The young guys either didn't care, went on and on about how funny the names were and tore them apart or said things mentioned in the "stupid replies" thread, or...well that was basically it.

The older guys, especially the ones with money who you'd give you're number to so they can tell you when their coming in said they didn't like the "bubblious" or "fantasy" names because they sound like idiot saying it. He actually said "can I speak with bubblious" and I laughed for like 10 minutes, it sounded ridiculous.

My name is Joplin, and people IRL have always called me that, including my parents so I can say that it's real. It's unique but not embarrassing for a guy to say when he's not in the club drunk.

I think this is very true.

When I first danced, I went by Aubrey to foster the whole girl-next-door thing and did okay, but I got a lot of people telling me that I reminded them of their little sister or daughter (not was I was going for!)

I just went back the other day, and started going by Callie. Now, the first thing everyone asks me is if I'm from California! (I guess its the tan?) Not what I was going for, but its started a lot of conversations and helped me sell a lot more.

I've had sooo many customers say that they prefer the "real" sounding names over the "stripperish" ones. Mostly because they feel they can better relate to someone with the name "Kim," as opposed to "Sparkles," or any of the other names girls use.

    Yea it makes a difference
mostly because it put me in a shitty mood when guys made fun of my "stripper name" or make stupid jokes about it, it would also bring my confidence way down
i have a super normal name now and guys LOVE it, it just fits me better

The main thing I like about a stripper name, is I can introduce myself as the obviously fake name but after a chit chat and a dance or two... I can pull the, "But you can call me *insert whatever real sounding name here*." That usually makes the customer feel good, and think he's special. That more than half the time made me alot more moola. Now that I really think back on it, it did make a difference when I changed my name. Actually, it made a huge difference... hmmm.

    ^^^^

I have a fake "real" name, school, history, hometown, first pet and corresponding email address, but I "never give it out, except to only my *favorites*!"

I would say yes. I've done well as Natalie, and I do very very well as Veronica now, but whenever I have tried Julia it never works and I've been Julia in more then one club and in more then one state. But Veronica serves me well now.

I used to dance using the stage name "Cynthia", at least once a week, someone custy would say, "oh Cynthia, that's my mothers name" or sister, wife, ex-wife ect. they would then use this as an excuse to get out of a lapdance "I would feel weird getting a dance from a girl with the same name as my mom" needless to say I changed my name since then!

Anything that can be heard clearly over loud music/chatter/etc. works for me.

I think all V names are super sexy...I'd love to be a Victoria or Veronica but I think those names ooze sex and don't really fit me

when I first started dancing, I went by Dior....then Blair....then London.....yeesh....can you say newb....I made horrible money, and more importantly, those names attracted horrible people....not that the names were bad, but they were bad for me. Add to that no experience and it was a money disaster...

So now I'm Taylor....and things are smooth, and the money is great.....

I find since I'm playing a part to them, I want to like my alter ego....I was never comfy as Dior....lol!

I've had the same stage name since I started dancing. All I know is that it works for me... $$$$.

I've only danced by one name, and the only problem I've had with it is a certain DJ calling me Areola when I got onstage. (my dance name is Ariana)
I was never amused, although this DJ thought it was just the best nickname in the world.
