Thanks!
He's actually a really good DJ, good with the girls hilarious so the crowd loves him. But he has a Jack Daniels problem, and that's how my stupid nickname came to be.
OMG, when I first started working at Spearmint I had a horrible time finding a name. There are so many girls that work there and you all have to have a different name, ugh....they have a baby name book in the back for new girls, no shit.
I don't know why I originally picked the stage name "Lucky" but it did work for me when I had the name. I'm sure only in Vegas would that name work. I could also say stuff like, "Maybe my luck will rub off on you?" Or "Do you want to get lucky?"
Har Har.
Eventually I changed my dancer name to Jackson, which I personally perfer, but when my stage name was Katie the guys seemed to really like that.
It made a difference for me...I started out going by Jessica and Chloe, but since I look really obviously slavic I would get the "that's not your real name" crap from everyone I talked to. ugh! When I switched to using a common Russian name, it cut WAY down on the annoying time-wasting "that's not your real name" BS.
IMHO, if the name fits you, you'll get a lot less hassle. And less hassle=a happier stripper, and a happier stripper makes more money.![]()
My name is Tess, so I was thinking of going by Tesla, since it's a variation of my name &because I love metal. Thoughts?
I noticed Kat worked well when I was 19,but now that I'm a bit older Rachelle seems more fitting.
I had a name that didn't fit me very well imho. so I changed it to something I feel more comfortable with. I don't know if it affected my money but I'm a lot happier introducing myself.

If I could change my stage name to be my real name I would. It builds rapport with the customer, but I've been Avalon for soooo long at the same club AND my business banking account is DBA Avalon that its not worth the paperwork.
Rebecca Avalon

In my shortish time as a stripper I found that when I used a name that I personally thought was very cool but was obviously not my real name it did not go over as good as now when I use a cute more "real" girl name.
I love some of the names that some features use here in Canada though but i do best with just a regular name.
I think it has to do with how you come across to the custy in your personalityy and confidence in yourself.

Don't do it. When I was in colour guard there was a girl named Tesla on the team and she was the most horrible catty bitch ever and never failed to screw us at shows. Tesla has some bad juju.
My name is Amaranth...typically mispronounced as "Amaran" or "Camren." A few people get it, but not too many. It starts a good conversation (Originally Amaranth is the flower in Greek mythology that was carried on the river Styx that never died. I just stole it from a line in The Great Disappointment by AFI.) It's a great drunkometer. When I get tired of explanations I just say, "but a lot of people just call me 'Emo'." That's usually good for a laugh.
I've been thinking of changing my name to something simple-stupid like "Rose" or whatever that's stripperish and normal at the same time, but I'm rather attatched to Amaranth.
Besides, it's sorta a thing with my friend Ally and I, she's Amathyst and I'm Amaranth.

My Current Pet Band Is: LAZRtag!
It was actually different for me. When I went by a really stupid name I was recognized more and made more $$. When I went by a normal name people always would forget what it was and I didn't make as much... hmm
Angelina

Hmmm... I go by Mirage. I think it works for me because I can pull off the exotic implications and I introduce myself with confidence.
Guys usually go "hmmm.... ok!" So it's obviously a stage name, but it's memorable and it suits me. My real name is very unique, so I'm not sure how I'd feel introducing myself with a "regular girl" name. It just wouldn't feel right.
...and if I ever get a skeptical guy who digs for my real name, I just tell him we left reality at the door and ask him what HIS club name is. Works every time.
I started out with the name Bali. Then the SC made me change it because they thought I was saying "Baller" Then I was Damia for a while. And that just sucked for a while. Now I started using 'Michelle' and everything seems fine.

No fake names allowed at my club. I'm super-attached to my name. It's a "boy" name, which can be fun when I dance for a guy with that name. But I tell people it's short for my real name (It's actually part of my real name, with an added syllable).
Tesla is a metal band, and AFI is (now horror-based) pop punk; emo's been dead for ten years. Sorry, music purist here.

the only time ive noticed my name affect my money is when i introduced myself to this old guy and he replied with "my ex wifes name is madalyn. that lying bitch." needless to say he didnt buy a dance from me.
i still get the "whats ur real name" q often, but i think its mostly cus i picked an older name. theres not too many 20yo named madalyn. but if you go down to bingo friday night im sure youlll find plenty 80yo madalyns
When I recently switched clubs, I also switched names. I use "Maeby," and while the girls and house moms I work with give me a funny look when I introduce myself, the customers always laugh at it and it gives us something to make cheesy jokes at. So in a way mine positively effected my money because it gives a positive introduction, and makes it easier to sell dances.

I think it'll effect the sort of guy you'll get a bit. It has to do with what your image and all that is.
Like its been said, if your name makes no sense for what you look like and what your personality is, it'll be incongruent and savvy ppl will notice that.
I think id prefer talking/spending to an Ashley than a Princess.... the ashley seems more human and relatable than the glam stripper princess.

Ha, I remember when I first started at SR...how many girls are on the roster anyways?
I got soooo lucky with my name. They had a list of names that weren't taken, with some crossed off. I asked about one of the crossed off names..turns out that girl had quit the day before. I got me a killer stripper name![]()
My friends weren't so lucky. One got the name "Purple"
I'm not kidding.

I don't think guys really care about names. It's more about who's attached to them.
i think they influence how you're portrayed...i used to use Ally which was alright but way too close to my real name so i couldn't get into a fake personality...
now i use paris, it helps a lot more (fan of paris hilton haha) because i can put on a fake personality easier..
BUT because i have long blonde hair, use stripper tan, always giggling, put on the dumb act and always have a drink in my hand i always (every night) get at least one of these lines once:
- is your last name hilton?
- that's not your real name hawhawhaw
- where's the video?? (where i just claim mine's better and watch their jaw hit the ground)

I've only danced under one name and it's a real normal sounding name. I think it works well because when customers ask me if it's my real name depending on whether I want to keep talking to them I say yes and they are more likely to believe me. I think it helps to build rapport with customers who are going to spend a decent amount of $$$$ and time with me but it's less important probably for lap hopping.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
changing my name definitely helped my income, because the name i had before wasn't fitting with my looks or personality. my name is not stripperfied lol and guys seem to like it though. for the most part, i think a normal sounding name works better
