    Blair
    ... Thats my REAL name.

    lol

I'm thinking about using Raven. It's pretty weird but not extremely weird, as I've known women called Raven in real life.

Also I have super long dark hair and winter white skin, so it sort of seems fitting.

Because I don't want to start a new thread, I have a newbie question, just ignore me if thats not okay lol. But how do you pick a name before you start? Like, I won't know if there is already a girl there called Raven and obviously there can't be two. So should I just pick a first choice then a backup choice?

i use the name Mimi at one club and Raven at another club and i make wayyyyyyy more money under the name Raven. definitely use Raven if you can- it's normal sounding enough, yet strippery at the same time.

My last name was Celeste which was pretty normal but it didn't work so well for me... I felt I dunno... unsexy. When I go back to work I want a name that screams sex...

Like I worked with a girl and her name was Lust... and OMG she was smokin. I was thinking about taking that name on.

I dunno... do you guys ever feel like a name is almost self fulfilling in a way?

I think it can be to an extent... but if you have short blonde hair and blue eyes a name like kitty just isn't going to fit the way Jessica or Jennifer would. You know? And something about it "fitting" makes it more genuine and like New Moon said... Genuine=$$

lol... maybe I just wish a name could be self fulfilling?

I have been, always will be, Chrissy. I was Cassie when another club had a Chrissy, and I did just fine, but I'm 99% of the time Chrissy. And IMHO, it's the having a real name thing that makes guys like me, they forever comment on it. "Oh, so nice you have a normal name!" So I always reply, "Well, my REAL name is Desire Sparkle, but I am Chrissy in here."

    Love it!

After I left, I heard that she'd changed her name to something like Matilda or Miranda and that she was doing incredibly well -- and that some club regulars didn't even recognize her!

That might be a bit of an extreme case, however.
I know what you mean wth a situation like that!

We have a quiet, cute, sweet girl that named herself Felony!

    Just a quick add-

When I started dancing I used my real name Charisma and eveyone thought it was a stage name, so I'd show my I'd covering up my other info. I did really well, everyone felt like I was "real". I stopped using it locally because I felt like I was exposing myself too much.

I was just thinking, I actually like the name "America". Thats the actress from ugly betty's name and it works for her. I think they'd get it in south Florida.

Personally I think it's not a good idea, it has so many negative connotations (as well as positive) and you will limit your possible buyers!

    But... see here, just FYI.

I myself have a very interesting name. I think that in big cities that works well. Not to mention there are people with that name, are they offending someone by using the name a parent chose for them? I think Latinos will appreciate it.
    IMHO

    Charisma

Well, sure some will appreciate it, but don't you want to EXPAND your target market of customers instead of MINIMIZING it? I mean, that only seems logical to me.

In certain areas of Miami Latinos are your main customer. I don't think anyone is being excluded btw, imigrants love the name "America" for the freedom and possibities of living their dream and Americans love it for being patriotic. Sounds like a win win.

Never know until you try it tho.

I danced as Bella for a bit and made OK money, but it is such a typical stripper name. I changed it to Leona Anne and I find that guys respond better to it. it is a very "exotic" sounding name with some heavy "feisty" Italian feel to it. I am a 100% Italian American with tats, so it seems to fit the feisty Mafia princess thing that I work with.

I was told my stripper name was too ethnic. I initially wanted it to be LADY, but was told it wasn't a good name.

My stripper name is Lilith, which I am a little attached to for a few reasons. I thought it would work well, considering the reference to Christian mythology, and I live in upstate NY which is like Catholic central. I figured everyone would recognize it and see the sex reference. But very, very few people know where the name comes from, and apparently there's a character on Cheers named Lilith who's like this ugly old mom or something. I've never even seen an episode of Cheers. And the drunk guys have a lot of difficulty pronouncing the "th" at the end. And I can't tell them, "Just call me Lily," because there's a Lily there, too. I'm thinking about just using my real name, Alaina, cause it suits me better.
