    Default Women problem

Going to try to be brief and see what you recommend and if you had or have a similar issue.

I have and IUD, not an STD and I have PID, oh my bunch of initials but well a few weeks ago I began having pain, my reg doc did a urine and nothing showed up but the reg doc gave me levaquin and Azithromycin. I'm done with them and I still have pain, it feels like a period that doesn't go away and after I pee my left lower side, near the hip it's like I'm having contractions.

Yesterday I puked, today I puked and I said calling doc, this time I called the OB, was there for hrs. They did a urine, and ultrasound and nothing, they also took blood, and she believes I have some type of inflammation so now she is giving me 2 types of antibiotics to treat them but nothing for pain.

anyone have any similar symptoms? any advice? thanks, I feel like crap.

I had an ectopic pregnancy back in 03 and yet I was told and IUD was fine to have.

I am so confused, in pain, and I don't know who to trust and what to do

No I don't, not now but I feel terrible. She didn't' give me anything for the pain either, when I called I said "is there anything I can take or you can prescribed?" cause I swear I forgot while there she said "motrin" I said "yeah I'm allergic, it's on my chart in big red letters" I swear it's like I speak and they don't listen.

Is there another doctor around you that you could go to for a second (third?) opinion? Maybe even a gynecologist since they might know more about IUDs and problems like this that could come up with them.

    Feel better girl!

And did they do a pap, just in case? I think PID inflammations and infections can show up in those... or something.

    The vomiting really concerns me!!!

Get another opinion if this doc didn't help you much or if you feel she's not really listening to you.

I hope you get this figured out and feel better soon!

Yes, never be wary to get a 2nd opinion. Hope you feel better soon. What if you temporarily take the IUD out so you can get better?

Well this is a different doc from the one who put in the IUD, and not my reg doc, a new OB.

You said you have PID right? It sounds like that. The anti-biotics might not have kicked it. Get a second opinion honey and keep an eye on your temp.

Well it's Sat and I am not going to the ER and Sunday they are also closed so I will wait till Monday.

Bri is going to a bday with the kids and I'm gonna be home alone and I swear all I want to do is crawl in to bed. I took a nap before and hell I never had a day for me and the only reason he's doing this is cause I'm sick! yay :rolls eyes:

I will keep an eye on my temp. Thank love.

I have an IUD. Initially it was fine but then a year into it I started getting random cramps all the time. Nothing related to my period. I was bloated and uncomfortable. They eventually did and ultrasound to see if the IUD was still in the right place. A few weeks later, it all stopped just as it had started, without warning.

The puking and other things don't sound good, so if you're not feeling better in a day, def go to the ER or another Dr.

Thanks. I called earlier and spoke to the doc on call and she told me to wait a few days cause seems they have done all they can but if the pain gets worst then go to the ER.

    Why did yours stop?

No idea. Maybe 3 months was enough irritation for my little body. Couldn't tell you. The only reason I think that it started could have been long distance travel but even that seems to lame to consider. The body goes through many changes. I think a year after I put the IUD in, it decided to get used to it. Who knows? We are really advanced in some ways and know so little in others.

I hope you feel better soon

BTW, which IUD do you have?

Oh that's good I started thinking something really bad happened and you had surgery!

Scared me! cause oh no I've had 2 surgeries and I'm scared. 1 the ectopic and a few days later cause the methotrexate they gave me made a cyst burst and the didn't believe anything was wrong, "oh you just had surgery, the pain is normal" I went to the ER and they didn't even check me, a day later I called "I really feel bad" well "take a pain med and call me in an hr" not even a few mins later I passed out. Hubby and mom carried me to the car and on the way to the hosp I woke up screaming, he called 911 to escort us and the cop carried me inside, woman cop too!

The guy in the fron was like "she needs to be seen" the other lady said "oh well this man was here first" Todd, I still remember him, "sir does your chest hurt? are you having chest pain?" the man said "no, it's my foot" Todd "she's next! she was here the other day had surgery and something is wrong" next thing I know I'm rushed to the OR.

    Oh and Mirena sorry.

The original OB that did the surgery for th ectopic and yet ignored the cyst after the tech told her I had a huge cyst was fired.

Wow! You've had it pretty rough I'd say. That's a horrible story. Doctors can be idiots and asses. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with something like that.

    You feeling better today?

and... Hurrah for Todd. A hero in my book

I feel a bit better thanks, not as strong the pain, but I spoke to my sister and she told me to get the damn thing out. So on Monday I am going to call the doc again.

I also want my husband to get a vasectomy, I'm done being the one taking care of the damn contraceptives.

Waiting for the doc to call, my doc gets in at 5:30 so yeah. I am still in pain. Dizzy, feel like I am going to puke but I try my damnedest not to and I have not today.
Hubby now is sick, kids sick, so we all have different ailments, so yay :grrrrR:

At least this is before we go on vacation so that's good. Anyway just wanted to give an update.

This makes me trust doctors even less. There is a reason they call their work "practice". It's not perfect and I think that a healthy distrust of doctor's is a good way to go. Hence why I was bugging you to get a 4th opinion, HHL. Sorry that happened to you ...

...but was the lady cop hot?

Maybe it was a touch of the stomach flu on top of an infection? Who knows, I'm speculating. Let me know what's going on, either here or in PM 'cause I'm worried.

And I agree, I don't think the IUD is a good form of B.C. for you. Get it out!

Thanks Temp, you know I don't remember, she was not a big girl, maybe 5'8 blond and that's about what I remember she had her hair in a pony tail.
Yeah I think Bri is going to have to get a vas cause I've tried many things, pills, patch, nuva ring, injection and either I have gotten pregnant or my body gets all crazy. Maybe wth I'll get fixed instead of him, who knows.

He's at the doc right now himself cause he didn't go to work, so it's bad if he doesn't' go to work. I will let you know what this doc says...

    Here are my questions...

    1. what will all these test determine?
    2. Is this all related to the IUD?
    3. If I remove the IUD how long will I bleed for?
4.For this PID what is done besides antibiotics? for how long and will it come back?
    5. Why am I still in pain?
    6. Why do I feel nauseated, still dizzy?
