    Default Help! 26 with Crowsfeet!!

Okay, what the fuck. I just turned 26 so maybe I'm being more sensitive about this than ever, but I remember literally since being 14 or 15 and noticing I had crows feet. Oddly enough, they are only bad on one side of my face. But they're bad!! What can I do? Botox? Creams? Will anything save me? My skin is very dry but I don't have wrinkles anywhere on my face BUT under my left eye... horrible crowsfeet!!

    HELP ME!!

Can you go to a dermatologist? Are they there when you smile and stop to smile?

^ I've heard everyone's skin is usually worse on the left side because of sun exposure when driving.

Be sure to keep sunscreen and moisturizer on.

I've also had some okay success by using products with Vit. K and Vit. C (as L-absorbic (sp?)acid)

Botox helps crow's feet, you bet. Also light acid peels (glycolic).

    ^makeupartistschoice.com and platinumskincare.com

I wouldn't apply glycolic peels near the eyes though. I think retin-a and sunscreen is your best bet.

You can do 30% glycolic within a half inch of the lower eyelid, but no closer. And never on the upper eyelid.

Copper peptides are a good long-term treatment for eyes.

I buy copper peptide serum from http://www.skinbiology.com. It's a thin watery blue serum and you apply it at night. My typical routine that includes CP serum goes like this:

    1. Wash face
    2. While still damp, put 3-4 drops CP serum into palm and mix with 3-4 drops of water
    3. Spread all over face (and neck, decolletage, pretty much anywhere you want to use it)
    4. Before it dries, follow with a few squirts of emu oil (jojoba will work too)
    5. Follow with cream-based products (like zit cream or eye cream)

The order should be serum, then oil, then cream. The emu oil helps bring the actives of the other products more deeply into the skin, so the nice thing is that you need less in order for it to be effective. If you put cream on and then oil, the cream blocks the actives.

The CP serum is pretty cost-effective and lasts forever. (Shelf life of about 5 years.) You only need a few drops at a time and you MUST increase very gradually, like over the course of several months, or it can irritate your skin. So using too much is bad. But oh my, does this stuff do wonders for my skin. It is also excellent for promoting healing after peels. If you want to really transform your skin, use the CP regimen during a series of glycolic or TCA peels. You'll be amazed.

I wouldn't be doing any at home peels near the eyes! The skin there is far too delicate.

Microdermabrasion may reduce the appearance of fine lines around the eyes but for deeper ones (which it sounds like u have) botox will help and also prevent them from worsening (as the muscles wont be able to move and make the crows feet causing expression).

Wear SPF 30+ and sunglasses even in winter!

Get botox. If you have the time to spare from work and the money, get laser. Sunglasses, sunscreen and moisturizer are all good, but they won't fix any damage that has already been caused.

That's what I meant by "all good". I in no way meant to belittle the good that they do (more than just preventing lines... sunspots, cancer, etc). I paid no attention to that stuff until I was about 23... *cringe*.

I've always had lines under my eyes too. Botox helps some, but not for the lines under the eyes. The derm said it was because my cheek bones are kinda high and when I smile that skin gets pushed up more. Over time it causes wrinkles. It makes sense. My brother has the same lines and my kids are even getting them and they're young! Look in the mirror and smile and see if the skin on your cheekbones is pushing up more than other people.

I had Botox. It was like $150 for the outsides of my eyes. Freezes those muscles right up!
