    Default Contact wearers....help! Eyedrop suggestions?

Last night as I was putting in my contacts one went in fine and then one felt a little uncomfortable from the get go. Usually they are fine after a few minutes so I didn't bother with it. It almost felt like a little something got in my eye.

I took my contacts out a few hours later after I noticed the stupid eye was bright red. Its been extremely red, watery, and irritated for about 12 hours now. I couldn't sleep worth a damn.

I don't think its infected because of that little something I felt scratch my eye I'm assuming. The redness hasn't subsided at all. My vision is perfect.

Has anyone used eye drops to treat these kinds of symptoms? I don't feel this is doctor urgency but I'd like it to go away faster than just waiting it out.

I just use saline with my contacts ro for any eye irritation, but if it kept you awake and has been irritated so long it sounds like it would be worth getting it checked.

You may want to go to the doc anyway but I recommend bion tears.

I'm going to go hunt down some bion tears. It seems a little better. I called my mom, a nurse, and she thinks I should wait another 24 hours. Argh.

Visine usually works pretty well for me. I'd start wearing your contacts for less time (only when you have to) or potentially even switching brands. Go to your eye doctor and see if you can get some samples of different ones and see how they work

I think I'm done with contacts. I've tried three or four brands on several occasions and they all never really worked out. I've been using the Acuvue Oasys for a few boxes now and I have a lot of redness after only wearing them for a few hours. Meh I tried. I cleaned vigilantly and replaced frequently.

Perhaps a snazzy new pair of glasses would help me feel better about it.

I can't believe this. I was just going to post a thread about contacts.

I just got my first ones two hours ago and I hate them. They move around a lot causing blurry vision etc.

It's because my eyes are so conical and I have a severe astigmatism and I need ones that are thinner on top than they are on the bottom. So if they move even a fraction, all goes blurry. Ugh.

Don't feel bad. Girls who wear glasses are mysterious (or at least that's what I tell myself, lol)

If you use any drops, make sure they're specifically for contact-wearers.

On the other hand, I tried Visine for contacts once, and it made the burning worse!!

Try just taking them out for a few hours, or even days--do you have glasses you could wear? Your eyes might just be irritated (seasonal, etc) and need a break.

Since it seems like only one contact is bothering you, do you think it could be torn? That happened to me once, and I held it up to the light and found where it was tearing.

I usually use visine contact drops.
