    Default discount perfumers?

i've always been wary of all those "discount" perfume places that claim to have the originals. of course, this was never really a problem for me since i never (till a year or so ago) wore any kind of perfume other than body splashes.

then something happened and i was suddenly afflicted with an addiction to certain brands. anyway, this year alone i've bought 2 versions of lolita lempicka (the original and the newer blue bottle one, "le de") and 2 different bulgari's .........

i've been eyeballing the original tom ford black orchid (not the newer veil of flowers or whatever.. i'm not big on that one) and i -almost- bought it today...

but i'm feeling guilty about spending money i need to save for other things right now. i don't spend much otherwise, really, but still.

do you guys ever buy from discount places? are there any online you've bought from before and trust? i just don't want to get some knock-off or 1/2 dried out tester because i didn't "read the fine print" ....

i had a thread recently about this, and basically everyone said discount perfume stores are generally knock offs and not the same quality, and to check ebay.

I don't have any recent info on them bought I bought a knock off Tommy Hilfigure circa '96 and it was as good as the original.

I'd see knock off perfume places at the mall, go in and try them by spraying it on one arm then walking to a name brand perfume place and spray the same kind on the other. Walk around the mall, eat whatever and then smell each arm. If they still smell the same go with the knock off, if one doesn't seem to last as long, or changes...then don't.

Are you talking about the discount perfume stores/kiosks in the mall that have all kinds of perfume, in the same packages and bottle that you see at the perfume counter in Macy's and what not are knock offs? Or do you mean the little bottles of perfume they sell on street corners are knock offs?

I have a friend that sells to most the girls at the club and the exzact bottle-exzact same stuff only alot less --he's company gets it right from the same place all wholesellers do when it gets shipped into the port of miami. He doesn't have a website, but sells it locally--maybe he would via ebay, but he's on a trip right now and should be out for 2weeks be4 I could ask him.

Still I know for a fact he sold alot at our club around Xmas time and I didn't hear any complaints which I would had as I'm 1 of his bestest friends from back in highschool when I dated guys and he was tall super trim and had long hair like most the other twinks I tried to settle for be4 coming out. Oh well, he's still 1 of the best guys I know and he just always been good at shopping around/getting the best price I remember when I wanted a ps3 and it was sold out backorder everywhere (people were selling them for 50-100 more then they are new) and he got it for me costing him about 75 less then retail (and he sold a few after that to turn a profit cuz he knew he could after doing he's homework).

I freeking laugh when he tells me how he takes his g/f out as somehow it really doesn't cost him 1/2 if anything as much as she would think he spent on her, but still he always gets her flowers, takes her out, gets her nails done..ect takes her shopping ect, but he has taught me it's all about how you spend your money.

I went comparing prices with him at the mall once(becuz we play games like this 2 entertain ourselves) Anyhow I don't believe they are allowed legally to sell knockoffs, but in 1 mall we found about 4-5 different prices on the same brand perfumes (he's prices still beat on adverage of atleast 8-10bucks per bottle) so most definately shop around and test it before buying if possible--return an item if it's not up to par with what was advertised as orginal.

Well I get perfumes and colognes (for my bf) at Drug Emporium. They told me they're cheaper because they're not in the boxes. I don't know if that's the case, but they smell exactly the same and the bottles are exactly the same so who cares?
As far as knockoffs, I remember in middle school, I found a bottle of fake Tommy Girl at Dollar General. It was called 'Johnny's Gal'. I thought the name was hilarious, but it smelled the same and I was 12 so I bought it!

Yha thats what I had. There were a few other fragrances that were hip at the same time that I grabbed there too, all smelled the same as the real deal. I think mine was 5.99$.
