Well I got to audition at another club about 20 minutes from my house and actually got the job. The problem though...I got fired! Here's how it went.
I auditioned on April 27 and according to the manager Liz I'm "f**king awesome!" Liz tells me to come in on Tuesday to make my schedule and I said okay. I'm already starting to get sicker so I'm taking sinus stuff and trying to feel better. Tuesday night after I finish coaching I'm so sick that all I do is go home, take sinus pills and spend the rest of the night drifting in and out of sleep. The next day I drive all the way out to the club to talk to the girl doing the schedule. At that point she is not there so they tell me to come back in an hour. I get their number and I call back in an hour. the girl still isn't there so they tell me to call in about a half hour. I call back and they tell me that she isn't coming in that day because someone close to her had died. At this point I decide to drive back home
I decided to call on Thursday to see if the girl was going to be there instead of wasting gas and driving up there. Both times I called she wasn't there so I gave up. On Friday I had my wisdom teeth pulled so I really didn't feel like calling (although it didn't hurt bad I just didn't want to deal with anyone). I decided to skip calling till last Tuesday when I knew she would be in.
When I called on the 6th to make my schedule I end up talking to Liz since the schedule girl isn't there (I'm starting to see a pattern). Liz's first response to me is "we haven't heard from you in 2 weeks!" Funny, I auditioned on the 27th which was a week before that. I told her I had come up on Wednesday and asked if anyone had told her and she said no. I told her everything and that I had gotten my wisdom teeth pulled that friday. I told her how I had gotten sick on Tuesday and that I didn't want to come up and get other people sick. She said again "you didn't come in on Tuesday" and I told her again that I was sick. She kept going on and on about how I didn't call or talk to anyone and I kept saying I had (she had not been told). She also kept going on about how I didn't show up on Tuesday
Liz finally said that I could have called and I said that I probably should have. She asked me why I didn't call the schedule girl and I said I didn't have her number. I said I saw it on the application but did not know at that point if I would need it. Liz was really starting to get an attitude and I nearly told her that if this was the way she was going to run the club then I wanted no part or her or her f-ing club but I stayed calm. She finally said "well I don't think this is going to work out" and I told her Okay then thank you and hung up.
I talked to my dj and told him and he said it was probably a good thing this happened now. This past Saturday I talked to a guy who used to manage out there and told him what happened. He said things are really getting f**ked up out there and the head manager just quit 2 days before that. He also told me that Liz had been a bar manager at one of our popular gay clubs here in Little Rock and had really no experience with being a strip club manager. I felt quite a bit better after hearing that.
Sorry this was so long. It's kind of been a venting thing. Oh and I think I've figured out one of the reasons I haven't been doing well. I'm thinking the same chick who told me I needed to start dancing like a white girl to make money has been talking behind my back to customers. When she was there friday night I didn't make anything but $30. When she wasn't there saturday I made quite a bit more (nearly $100 but the club had been dead for a couple hours because of the storms). Coincidence? I don't know but what goes around comes around.
