Default Is Dallas really this bad?

So I danced Dallas SR Sunday night, and it sucked badly, but perhaps that was just because it was Mother's Day.

Anyways, I was told in the dressing room by a gal that's been dancing in Dallas for a long time that I would never make money in Dallas unless I had long blonde hair, fake boobs, and a coke addiction.

Now is Dallas really THAT bad? And if so, where are some places in Dallas that I can make money WITHOUT investing a couple thousand into such things?

For those of you who don't know, I have short brown hair. I'm muscular and I LOOK muscular, which in Dallas terms means I'm "fat". I have two small tatoos--one on each hip.

SR told me I'm welcome to work there on days or weekday nights, but that they're already completely packed on weekend nights (understandable). Cabaret Royale didn't let me audition (because they were full), but the manager told me to try back with them in a couple of weeks because they might have some openings then. Fade's night guy told me (without even seeing me naked) that he didn't need anyone on nights, but their day manager approved me for any day shift at Fade.

I'll dance nude or topless, and I don't mind the "dive" clubs--that's where I work here in Amarillo. I also don't really mind dealing with the grabbers (again, that's par for course here) as long as I feel that it's safe enough to work in.

    Any ideas?

I feel for a ya girl. I started dancing in PHX where girls of all appearances, body types, ethnicities, etc. etc. could easily make a good living doing this. It was a shock for me moving to Dallas, seeing how 'Barbie' it is out here. Despite Dallas being a more racially diverse city, I think theres a much narrower spectrum of whats considered beauitiful here. At least in the strip clubs and amongst their patrons. It really is the bleach blonde w/ weave, large fake breasted, thin, super toned, ultra tan white girls that make the most $ here.

I don't see all these barbie types you guys are referring to. There are some but most girls in Dallas are like anywhere else , a variety of girls work here. Maybe the stereotype is just intimidating and you focus on those specific girls? Really take a good look around, there are sooo many flawed dallas dancers ( i meant that to be positive).

SR is still working on getting regular customers so Im not suprised that they weren't busy on Sunday, especially since it was a holiday. I work at the Lodge and they usually have 80 girls on weekends and right now have about 50, so they are desperate for new girls (which is unususal). I am pretty big and although I make more money when I am blonde I do very well. PM me if you are thinking about going there, it's really different from SR. Also t SR did the background check you and require fingerprints and such? Just curious as they started doing this at my club due to the recent law changes.

Also, as we all know you can't judge a club/city by one night! Give it some time girl! There are nights I walk with 200 or less and then the next week every night will be over 900. One day is not a good gauge, i need at least 2 months at a new club before i know how much to expect to be bringing in.

Thanks! SR just photographed me, but no fingerprints or anything. I was just very frustrated... And I'm willing to accept that it was probably just a really slow night, but when that other dancer in the DR started talking, I just didn't know for sure whether it was just me, or whether it was SR, or whether it was Dallas. I didn't know whether she was speaking truly, or just a bit buzzed and talking trash.

I was actually thinking of trying The Lodge and Men's Club, because I know that in my home club I generally do very well with the middle-aged (and older) businessmen. I may not be the hottest girl out there, but I can carry on the best conversations!

    I'll PM ya.

I had a pretty similar experience there last year, with my dark hair, smallish boobs, eyeglasses, and Jersey accent. I hope for your sake its different now.

Eh I think it is true that in certain big cities there is a shallow, stereotypical idea of beauty. Dallas, Vegas, Los Angeles are shallow douchy cities like that IMO. Thinner, faker, tanner looks sell well there. But you can still find other clubs where your look is celebrated.

Here is something to keep in mind about Dallas... it is the only city I know of that has a particular shade of haircolor named after it... Dallas Blonde. Having said that... I have been to a couple of clubs who had maybe one or two blondes on a Friday night. P2 was one of them. Can't remember the other...

    Awww Thankie Corgan!!!

I worked with a bunch of Dallas girls this weekend and I was the pale one, plus my boobs were only average in size. LOL!! I cater my look to what makes me the most money, if that means more fake Barbie-ness then thats what I gotta do.
