    What constitutes the "featured dancer"?

At the club I go to most often, they have a girl who's there almost every time I go, and she's considered the "featured dancer" (I know this because the DJ says so whenever she goes on stage), whatever the F that means. I only mention it because this is one of the laziest girls in the entire club. Her stage show is terrible and boring, and she almost never talks to customers on the floor unless they approach her. She's hot, no doubt about it, with her big fake boobs to match, and I kinda think she's as lazy as she is because she's one of these "I know how hot I am" types, which is incredibly unattractive. She can most often be found sitting down with some of the other girls, not making any effort to make money. I don't get it. I have never gotten a dance from her exactly because of her holier-than-thou presence. It's a shame, because I'd like to give her a chance, but if she's not gonna make an effort, why bother? She expects to have her ass kissed and that's exactly why I don't do it.

So, what does one have to do to be considered the featured dancer? Is this something you guys want to be? I have to assume the girl at my club is not the best representative of what a featured girl should be. Do these girls get paid more? What are the benefits to the girl? What's expected?

Most features are paid by the club to be there.

If she's always there, I know some clubs that I've worked at have former features or retired features who work there, and they just announce her because they can.

If she's not approaching she might just not need your money, so she doesn't put herself through the asshole gauntlet that hustling usually is. I mean, if she just hangs out with her girls night after night, waiting to be approached, then she knows what she's doing/not doing and I'm guilty of it myself. *shrugs* I have a job doing fetish work on the phone and I still "work" at the club just for the whole getting out of the house/seeing the girls/mild excercise thing. And a couple guys will hunt me down for dances/VIP, so a little extra cash too.

OR she could be a 90's girl/from a much busier club in a different area where you don't HAVE to hustle and may not have adjusted/gained the appropriate skill set when she settled down at this club.
Purely speculation but that's what it sounds like to me.

This girl is definitely someone who works there regularly. For whatever reason she got the title. And she's probably no older than 25. Like I said, I doubt she's the norm, but I wonder what it's like elsewhere.

She may have like, porn titles or something. Just a thought. Sounds like the club just wants to claim her.

In most places a feature gets paid to put on a show or a couple of shows. She travels around. They have intense, choreographed shows with tons of props and such. A lot of times they sell posters/their porn between shows.

WOW! Sounds impressive. I've never seen anything like that, but in that case, this club is misusing the term "featured dancer". LOLZ

In my club, they seem to instead be using the term as a synonym for "most popular dancer" or "the exact opposite of what a stage show should be".

    Thanks for the info.

She could be a feature dancer that's not traveling and that's her home club. I know a girl in Myrtle that does that, wonder if it's the same girl??????

I'm in Myrtle Beach and I think you might be talking about my club. I have two possible explanations.
#1 There is one girl in my club who fits your discription. She only goes on stage on slower nights, when she's bored, because she is the queen momma and stage is optional. She's super cool and super hot. She's there four to six nights a week. The dj sometimes introduces her as "Playboy's playmate of the year, our feature dancer, etc". It's more of him teasing her playfully.

#2 When we do our 'showtime' specials, the buy one get one free dances, one girl is selected to go on stage during those two songs. The words 'showtime' and 'feature' and 'promo' and 'special' are interchangable. The dj will announce the dancer as "Our feature entertainer". Behind the scenes it's lovingly referred to as 'show-hoe'.

A handful of the girls like to go on stage for this while some girls will hide from stage. You might see the same faces up there for this night after night.
I'm one of the girls that likes to be the 'feature entertainer' or 'show-hoe'. I HOPE youre not talking about me 'cause I'm not boring or lazy!!

*True Feature Entertainers in the industry, in my experience, are paid by the club to come in for a day or more to attract business. They are ussually porn stars, very talented and sell photos or other merchandise specific to them.

    Hope that explains it.

I'm not even sure what does constitute a featured dancer. here clubs try to get Miss nude iowa and call her a featured dancer or some unknown pornstar that has only done one or two videos or no videos or have been featured in Midwest nights magazine as a featured performer. I find it weak and pathetic. Get a real star like jenna haze. I was in IL. one week in some suburb of chicago. they had Bridget the midget there dancing. thats a featured dancer or entertainer.
