Im still doing it with paid accounts. It doesnt matter - especially if the collection company doesnt have proof that theyre allowed to collect on the debt. Or a signature from you that you have a debt with them You can still have it removed if they do not validate. ESPECIALLY if you paid the original creditor and not the CA. My husband had 3 COs and all were paid directly to orig, sending out his DVs tomorrow.

Worst that can happen is it stays how it is. Best outcome is CA doesnt validate so CRAs remove it. Ive had many paid accounts and included in ch 7 accounts deleted. You just have to be persistant.. and have patience.

^^Thanks for the help. This is one of those things they SHOULD teach in high school! I love creditboards-I called and opted out, and printed out my letters to have all the old addresses and my former name removed from the reports. Working on the plethora of DVs now. *whew*

I do wish Transunion would cooperate though. They still won't send me my report.

What do you mean they wont send it? They HAVE to by law send you a report every year or everytime you are denied credit through an inquiry with them.

    Did you request through Annual?

You can mail annual a request... the links on my other computer - ill link it in a bit.

Legally, they have to do it every time you get a denial. Prevent them from throwing a hissy fit. Send a copy the letter of credit denial with a simple request and point to the "You are entitled to a free credit report within 60 days of denial" section with a big arrow drawn with a Sharpie, lol.

I fill out 1 form and get all 3 reports from the bureaus once per year. If youre requesting your report due to denial then you want to contact that CRA like linked above.

Heres the link if you want a snail mail copy for your annuals.

And Id like to add: The CRAs have 45 days to validate a dispute from a free annual. 30 from paid report.

I took this as quite rude... hope Im mistaken because Im only trying to help. I dont pretend to know every little thing about credit, CRAs, CAs, DVs, etc.

There are many ways to go about everything credit related. Mine is just one of them.

Supposedly I have a security thing on my credit (from when my bag was stolen) and I keep trying to get it off and get a damn copy and I keep getting letters back saying no. Slightly at wit's end with Transunion.

I got the other ones through annualcreditreport though. I'll send the paper form. I hope that works! Thanks Audrey.

Oh look what I just got...

How they verify - (NOT LEGAL!!)

Experian contacts the source of the information directly by letter, telephone, or through an automated verification system. We ask the source to check their records to verify all of the information regarding the item you questioned, and report back to us within 30 days of the date that we received your request (21 days for Maine residents and 45 days if the investigation is on information in a free annual credit report). Once we receive their response, we will send you the results of the investigation.
Lovely. So now I say Rose owes me $59877384767248 and Oh yea! I looked in my computer and there it is!

BS - this is when you send a mean letter to the CRA saying mean things about how that is not proper validation and that I want to see the validation 'proof' that was sent to them to verify the collection.

    Ugh... morons.

If you have a security freeze you also need to send a copy of your drivers license, ss card and something with your current address (if your DL doesnt have your current address on it.)

There must be enlarged by photocopy to 3x's their size. Seriously. They require this.

Id sent that form along with the IDs to both TU and Annual.

I did it today because Equifax has a sec freeze on me

K Ima go play Zoo Tycoon now... cute fuzzy wuzzy animals.

Argh. I wish they could have just told me that, instead of saying 'oh yeah, we'll take it off.' and then send me a letter saying 'jk'. I have to send then another copy of my name change papers anyway, so I will do this as well.

Who ARE these people anyway? The only one that has ever done well by me has been Equifax, which, not suprisingly, does not have a ton of weird creditors all over the report. Just half a ton.

you do not want to haul off and disupte everythign on yoru report all at once. This is a sure fire way to get flagged as a fraud alert, and your shit will br frozen and pain in the ass to get fixed. ( also speakign from experience)

patience is the key to credit repair.

Also, If you send a dispute to a CRA, make sure you send them nothting else untitl that dispute is resolved. Because if you mail them anythign else in that time frame, they will take on an extra 15 days to your disputes, weather they are related or not.

Lastly, Medical debts are an entirely different ballgame than normal collection agencies. You have to go about it a whole different way.

Since begining my credit repair, I have gotten 7 accounts deleted and raised my score by nearly 60 pts. In under 1 month. ( beginers luck?)

    ^^ yup!

Thats why you send the DVs to the CAs - after a couple of those with certified signed receipts and nothing back you can use THAT when you go to dispute through the CRAs. That they obviously have no verification that theyre legally able to collect the debt because youve asked for it and they keep sending bs back. blah blah blah.

Theres a seperate section for medical debt on that website.

I was served at my bank with an IRS Levy.. boo. 12,560 dollars. I've fought the levy before and honestly I swear to god it does zero good. I'm just going to deposit money into the account so it just eventually pays it off.

My issue is ummm my lease is up and who in their right fucking mind is going to rent to me?!
