OMG, I'm totally going through the same thing right now with a group of "friends"
I hate this. What makes these people think that they can say they're gonna do something and then not do it?? It also annoys me when people are late, obviously sometimes there are special circumstances but in general, if you say your gonna be there at 3 then be there at 3, getting there at 3.30 is not acceptable. Grrr![]()
I am with the rest. Unreliability/lateness really piss me off!
This drives me nuts too!My friends and family call me "Miss Perfect" if I say anything tho. I've never insinuated that I'm perfect, but I do own up to my mistakes and apologize without making excuses (a pet peeve of mine). Why apologize if your going to spend 30min justifying your actions. People just need to start acting like adults.... You know be responsible and cop to it when they do fuck-up.
Wait, wait! Does this include, "I'll be right back"????

Gah, I'd be a zillionaire if I had a dollar each time someone has said "i'm going to do (whatever) for you" and didn't.
I'm so sick of the "gunna do's" that I just pretend I don't hear it, I know they are talking shit just to make themselves feel good. I seriously think they think that talking is a s good as doing and feel all warm and fuzzy because they said they will do something. Sheesh, you don't really expect them to actually do the work and follow through? gasp
I don't know how many times I've had dramas because "gunna do" didn't do something essential and stupid me has had to leap through hoops of flames to fix up shit that wouldn't have happened if I had ignored "gunna do's" promise and just did things myself.
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

You are sooooooooooo on point with this, zOMGz!
Yeah, when people tell me they are "gonna do" something, I just go ahead and make plans to do them myself. I don't even think people mean to be assholes when they do it. Many people have a problem with overcommitment and they feel uncomfortable saying no and/or shitty for not offering assistance. I know cuz I was one of those people up to a few years ago. Now, I tell people no all the time, and when I say I'm gonna do something, it is ALWAYS done. My friends and family love me for that.![]()
