    Default phentermine..again.

I can't find the thread, but what kind of results did you ladies see while on phentermine? How long did you take it for, and how much at a time? My sister is going THROUGH it with her weight, and diet & excersise aren't helping. Her insurance is going to pay for ANOTHER personal trainer, but I think the phentermine will help her out! Thanks ladies!

I have taken phentermine, but it was YEARS ago. I took it for something like, 6 months, and went from about a size 8 to a size 5.

As first, I felt kind of "speedy" on it, but once your body develops a tolerance for it it's more about the drug being a strong appetite suppressant.

If I could get some right now, I would be willing to take it again.

When I was at my fattest I took phen/fen for 3 months and lost 30 pounds. I kept 80% of the weight off for the next 10+ years.

Recently I took phen for one month, but this time the weight came back as soon as I stopped taking the pills. I think the last bunch of pills may have been duds though.

^Didn't they ban phen fen (I'm sure I spelled that wrong!)

From what I've heard (and I've never taken it myself, so keep that in mind!) it can cause speed-like effects such as dry mouth, increased heart rate, loss of appetite and has the potential for negative effects on the heart. In small doses, it's safe but if you over do it you can damage your heart pretty bad from what I've heard.

Yes they did, but fenphen is dangerous, phentermine by itself isn't as horrible as that particular drug combo.

^^Ahhh it's a combination? I didn't know what it was but that makes sense.

Yeah, fenphen (or phenfen) was phentermine plus fenfluramine, that's what caused all the issues. Fenfluramine is no longer available in the US due to the heart disease issues.

Thanks for the info! I did not know that! I thought it was the phentermine.

Yeah, and I took phen/fen more than 10 years ago which was before it was banned. These days you can still get phen by itself, but its pretty difficult unless you are actually medically overweight. Girls with just vanity weight have to do some digging to get a hold of it, and many sites just rip you off by selling fake or weak phen.

Also, phen by itself can indeed make you feel a bit crackheaded. Oh well, no pain no (weight loss).

When I was 235lbs (yeah, whew) I took Phen + worked out + ate right and lost about 40lbs overtime. It really does work, but unless you're actually overweight, don't try it. If you're not willing to combine it with good lifestyle changes, there isn't a point in it either. It might work great for your friend though!

My biggest complaint was not being able to sleep well.

Can you get it prescribed or is it like a 'vitamin'?

I believe it's a schedule 4 drug so you have to have a prescription, and it's pretty regulated, I had to show my driver's license just to have it filled.

I would NOT, NOT, NOT recommend this for someone who just has 10lbs to lose, that isn't what it is for and any good doctor (which apparently is few and far) would not prescribe this to someone who didn't have a high BMI or body fat comp.
