About 10 months ago, I started a thread about (n. pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others), a German word that I learned from a friend who married/divorced a German guy.
Recently, I discovered a related word on the Internet, snarkenfreude. According to the esteemed UrbanDictionary.com, is derived from the words "snark" (a word that comes from the combination of "snide" and "remark") and "schadenfreude."
Snarkenfreude means not only do you enjoy someone else's suffering or mishaps but you quip (or write)--usually within the sufferer's earshot (or vision)--snide comments at their expense.![]()
Recently, I've had some fleeting but intense rushes of snarkenfreude on SW. Like "schadenfreude", Snarkenfreude is arguably shameful--but it still feels fucking good!![]()
Am I alone with this, or are others on SW experiencing snarkenfreude?![]()
