    Default Dieting is hard

I'm (kinda) crash dieting right now and MAN it sucks. I'm living on Healthy Choice soup and steamed veggies. Lame. One week down, two to go.

It's hard for me cause I have/had an ED and the urge to starve myself when I diet is huge. Like, it's difficult for me to just cut back instead of "going the whole way" and not eating for a week.

I'm such a bitch right now. LOL

Why are you kinda crash dieting?
Hmm, cabbage soup diet? That shit works AND you get full. It's pretty awesome.
    Be careful please!

Ditto, be careful! Lots of water and vitamins and make sure your protein levels are up!!

But I agree, I stick to a diet for like ... a day right now. I'm tempted to blame it on my anti-depressants but it might be a lack of willpower.

Yeah, it's the hardest this time around for me as it's ever been (as you can probably tell from my ticky, if anyones actually paid it any attention). I'm just trying to stay motivated, slowly but surely it's working. I've been yo-yoing like crazy! I'm really lucky I've hardly got any stretch marks from it. Another reason I miss having a physically active job, it really fucking helped.

I quit dancing and started doing phone work and I was just sitting around grazing all day and put on ten pounds. LAME.

I just am gonna go veggie til I lose these ten pounds and then I'll be happy. Sigh. My lack of willpower sucks.

Totally agree PV. It's just not healthy for my mind/soul to diet. So I figure I diet down to where I want this way (120) and then on Sundays (my weigh-day) if I am over 125 is back on the diet for a week. That way I'm not constantly counting calories and such. I can't live that way.

Something else you might wanna try that's low cal yet still filling is shiratake noodles. Some people like them, some don't, but they're def worth a try, especially if you like pasta. Just breathe through your mouth when you open the bag, b/c they smell like fish. Rinse them very well, and cook them with sauces/cheese or w/e and they take on the taste of just about anything. Right now I'm addicted to veggie lo mein. I basically take a whole bag of the noodles (40 calories) and mix w/lo mein sauce that I make and stir fried veggies. The whole bag of noodles, plus veggies, etc is only around 300 calories, give or take a few...if even that.

Just a suggestion for when you want to add something else into your diet.

Oh, that sounds good, but are they made of fish? I'm allergic.

No, they're tofu noodles. They just smell like fish at first.

There are also 0 calorie noodles (kelp noodles), that are similar, but I've heard they're not as good and have a different texture.

Nope you're not the only one! I go to this store called Wegmans (only store I know that carries them) and load up - 10+ bags at once!! I might as well just buy in bulk online!

LMAO!! I have not heard of a Wegman's in years! I used to live in NY and that was the only grocery store I ever went to, and when I moved down south then out west everyone was like "what's a wegmans?" when I was all like, "What's an Albertsons?"

Yeah Wegman's carries everything and if it doesnt they'll order for you.

I go to Whole Foods now. They carry it there.

Dieting DOES suck! Make sure you're taking your vitamins.

I lost almost 30 lbs. LIVING on Progresso vegetable soups, salad, steamed veggies, eggs and dry whole wheat toast. It works, but it's not fun.
I am like you too, I am an all or nothing dieter. I am either eating crap like mentioned above or just flat out starving myself. It's hard for me to eat well-blanced meals and control portions.

What sucks is now that I have lost the weight I am going CRAZY after being deprived for so long. I've been pigging out for the past few weeks (pizza, burgers, candy, cake, blah blah blah) and am starting to get a soft middle again.
Back to the gym I go.....
    I swear it's a vicious cycle.

Dieting never ends because you have to eat right to get the best for your body...but it is so damn hard when all of the sweets (my weakness...sugar) are EVERYWHERE!

I am the same way. I hate it. It's like must have it all or none at all. Well im on a "diet" at the moment also. I managed to gain 15 pounds on my break from dancing. How lame, now I need to get it off. I was happy eating though but not happy gaining weight. *le sigh*

I haven't updated this thread since I have been juice fasting. It's hard but I'm losing 1-3 pounds a day. Hooray!

Getting into a schedule of eating at a certain time during the day has been helpful for those who are in recovery for an ED to keep up healthy eating. Perhaps if you are feeling weak-willed, Hubby could mandate certain amounts of food at certain times?

    Lexi,

I'm five days in and have lost eight pounds total. There's a juice fast thread a couple threads down that I started.

I feel GREAT. I'm taking vitamins. I can see the junk coming out of my body and the weight is just melting off. My thread below has more details.

PM me if you need help. I have like ten girls on my "mailing list" ha ha.
