I had that done 3 or 4 years ago, just one tooth. I had to go for full anasthesia in the hospital because of other health issues. Pain will not last long.

Take some Ibuprofen, you can take up to four 200mg pills in one day. And an ice pack against your face will help with the swelling as well.

I used to cut the Vicodin in half... maybe that will help?

In about 3 days, it'll be much more bearable... feel better!

the vicodin did nothing for me, so I took 800mg ibuprofin's my mom got for her hysterectomy. Even through that, the pain was horrible.

I had 2 pulled and 2 surgically removed (they were impacted). Horrible horrible horrible. All I can say is drink a lot of water, eat a lot of ice cream, and if they give you the thing to flush your holes where the teeth were, use it. :-)

I had all four of mine pulled at once and the recovery was absolutely awful. I'm the same, Vicodin did nothing for me so I was chowing down on Advil constantly. The pain was so bad I couldn't sleep and gagging up blood was just SO pleasant.

I hope you recover soon! <3

Arg. I just went to the dentist and was told that all four of mine had to be removed and two were impacted. I'm so scared.
I hope you feel alright soon! I can't stand Vicodine either. Would they ever give muscle relaxants like oxycodine for something like this?

Ugh that sucks. I hate hearing how painful wisdom teeth hurt. I have 2 that I have to get pulled and I am so nervous about it. So much so, that I havent made an appointment to do it. They are the two at the top. FREAKS me out to no end.

Whatever you do, DO NOT smoke or drink through a straw. You will get dry sockets, so painful!

Waking up after my wisdom teeth were pulled... *shudder* That is the only time I've ever cried from physical pain in my adult life... and the first time I ever tried vicodin... love at first swallow/ relief from the torture. I'd pick sleep pills (check if it's okay with your other meds) over that sort of pain. Ugh, I woke up with drool and blood all over my pillow.

I didnt need pain killers at all after I had my wisdom teeth taken out (all 4 at once.) I used Arnica and Hypericum which were prescribed by a homeopath. I was surprised it worked! I started taking them the day before surgery which might make a difference, but it might be worth checking out.

Ouchie...I still remember when I had mine pulled...VIVIDELY!! I had a hell of a time. I used ice packs on face and it helped a little. However I also was eating my vicodin like candy haha!
