I would be devastated but yeah that's really really dumb of her. Sometimes I forget my purse in the DR momentarily but I'd never just leave it in there assuming that nobody would take it.

When I first saw this thread, I thought "Wow, how careless to lose that much money. Dumb girl".
HOWEVER after lat night my tune has changed.
I had over $1000 stolen from me.
I was not drunk. I was not irresponsible. I did not nor have EVER left my purse unattended. I have been dancing for four years, and I know regardless of who my friends/coworkers are, shit gets stolen and you better lock it up. I have a locker, and have never had anything stolen. Not one damn thing.
When I noticed my purse was empty, my heart literally hit the floor.
NOTHING that has ever happened to me at work has felt SO horrible.
If anyone wants to take the "blame the victim" mentality, just wait till it happens to you.

Side note, DONT leave cash in your car either! Another stupid place to leave cash or anything you consider valuable. You can get your window smashed even if NOTHING is visible from the outside. People will break in just to see what they can find. Happened to me last summer! Stupid mistake I would never repeat.

Yes that is awful and I do sympathize with you! How did they get a chance to get your money? That is sad and I am sorry. I could not bring myself to steal someones money EVER because I know people work hard for it, and they need it!
Even if they are dumb enough to leave it out, I still would not take it.
I don't prefer to be a thief ever in this life.

I have a few thoughts about when and where it could have happened. If it's what I think, it probably happened when I was giving a guest a dance and had my purse on the table right next to me. It would have taken another girl (or customer???) two seconds to swipe it. When I had my back turned, just a few inches away from my purse!
I so believe in karma. I have seen girls pass out after doing champange rooms with thousands in their purse. On there lap. While passed out. Irrespnsible yes, but I am the first to take and give their shit to the housemom or a manager. I lost count of how many girls got $$ stolen this way. It' so easy. But WHY WHY WHY would anyone feel entitled to someone else's hard-earned cash? Grrr.![]()
The thing that eats me up worst of all is that all the girls were in the dressing room at the end of the night. Everyone saw me cry...and swear..and cry somemore. You would hope that people were good enough that just seeing who it was, how upset i was, that they could give the money back. Annonomously...as in "Oh look housemom, I just found it in the bathroom".
People make me so sad sometimes![]()

Happened to me last night. It was only $115, but I'd worked damn hard for it. I dozed off for less than one song (I remember hearing that my friend was going up onstage, and when I woke up and discovered the money missing she was still up there), and while I was asleep someone leaned across me, took out my wallet, stole my money, and put my wallet back. How she managed it I'll never know, but she did. I hope someone else steals it from her.
Moral of the story: Keep it in your pocket until it goes to the bank. It's my own dumbass fault for falling asleep, not that I could help that (and no, I wasn't drunk, just exhausted).

I've had it happen twice
Once it was during a race time in Indy, so it was packed and I literally would just stand by the lapdance area and grab guys for dances. My garter was fucking full (I did dance after dance) anyways a guy slips a 100 from me, then proceeds to pay for his dance and his buddy's dance.. then asks for change back. I caught on as they walked away.
Xmas eve 4 years ago I came in an did a shift. My sons were at their dads for the first time during the holidays and at least at work I'd be around people. I was literally sitting next to my locker on my phone text msging...in a matter of 2 minutes and who knows who did it. Someone walked by, stole my 200 I earned that night and left. Right in front of me.
I cried and the managment just began gifting me bottles of booze and other misc crap they had there, they walked me to my car and apologized for who ever it was and vowed to have them fired. I never figured out who did it but it sucked.
as damp as a cellar. . . all mildewy I'm as damp as a cellar. . . all mildewy
happened to me before to, i do not EVER set my purse down for a second

My purse was stolen off of stage once by some asshat custy. I know have my $$ in my garter on my ankle, taking no chances.
^Me too. I always have it around my wrist, because I know if I had a purse I'd lose it or something. I'm always checking to see if the rubber band is OK and not gonna snap on me!
At my home club I left $200 on a vanity in the dressing room came back the next night and it was still there, but that was when we had a close knit group of girls. Once this chick stole my thong and swore up and down it was hers..but what she didn't know is the oufit lady made them esp. for me and they were very original then she said she got them from the outfit lady, so when she came back to the club the lady called her on it....lol

I had 300 taken from my work purse once. At the time I wanted to think it must have fallen out some how not that someone actually took it out.
I thought I had a feeling of who it was but I just felt sooooooo stupid. At the time I was working at a horrible club with many druggies. I stopped working there the following week.
Lesson for me was working in drug hole clubs not for me...
PS I would never steal money from someone not just because I know how it feels but quite simply its just the wrong thing to do. If you know something is wrong, why do it???

I'm pretty certain she was joking - but again people will do some fucked up out of character things when large amounts of money are staring them in the face.
Ugh I hated when girls would lose their money. They would cause so much fucking drama and they would leave it around carelessly(is that a word?it is now) It always seem that they lost it in a crown royal bag. :/

Carelessly is a word, although the grammar may be wrong. "they would leave it, carelessly, lying around" or "they would leave it somewhere carelessly"... sounds better to me but I don't know ... your way could be right too! I think the word "around" is what's bugging me 'cause you can leave something around... it has to be DOING something around. lol
I dunno. I'm over-thinking this, aren't I?
But yes, be careful ladies. That's key. And even when you are careful, you can lose $![]()
^^^LOL okay I meant like they would leave it in the dressing room and then go to the restroom or not pay too much attention to it.
^Hehehe I know. I'm just being a grammar bitch.![]()
Your point was very very clear, I was just picking it apart because I'm out of school and going through withdrawal!

Actually, she used it properly.
</threadjack>
This always seems to happen to new girls, but they leave money sitting on the counters and it gets knocked down or covered up or someone turns it in to the housemom.

Agreed. Imagine this scenario: You walk out after a great shift. You are escorted safely by your bouncer to your car. You had a great night, but you are exhausted by all the dances you did and just ready to get into bed. You aren't paying that much attention to your surroundings as usual because you are just thinking about eating the dinner you skipped because you were so busy, and what you are going to do with all the cash you just made. You don't notice the custy lurking in the nearby lot, and that a car is following you home. You get home and are walking to your car when you are attacked/raped whatever. You call the police and they come and take a report and they say well, "You know that you deal with creepos at your job. You should have been more careful to be sure you weren't being followed. You know that guys like to follow strippers home, and they get all excited because they fall in love with you. You really were asking for something like this by choosing this kind of job and being so stupid and negligent." Um yea, we would not like that would we?
Never had any money stolen, we have a pretty honest group at my club. I have brought my purse to work with a decent amount of cash in it before a few times, but now I don't keep more than 20-30 bucks in my purse. We have all made dumb ass choices, and the tendency to blame the victim always amazes me. Someone took money out of her purse. Yeah in my old age I've learned that you have to always watch your back, and it is not smart to carry a bunch of cash to work, but it only takes a few seconds of distraction to have something stolen. Just because she left it unattended in her purse doesn't mean that it wasn't seriously fucked up to have her cash taken. If she was robbed at gunpoint then she's a victim, but since she left it in her purse she was "asking for it." sheesh. Not trying to harp an anybody but this is just why people don't report crimes to the police because of the indifference they are treated with. You just get made to be just as stupid as the criminal!![]()
