    You're an ass.

    FTW. Butt out, Outhouse.

Side note, at 5 foot 3, and 125 pounds of muscle, this thread makes me feel like a blimp. Yet the only complaints I've had were from managers/customers who were deliberately trying to bait me to see where my self esteem was. They did it to other girls too, for being too pale, too skinny, or too short hair. Some people are just naturally asses who get off on having "control" over a pretty girl.

Nope. This is like the dressing room of the club. No customers allowed. Just dancers and staff.

You stand firm for what all men find attractive. Congratulations on being the golden nugget. We had no idea what men liked before you. Feminism has blinded us, and you good sir have removed that blind. My thanks.

OP- Every club is different, every region is different. Some clubs you will be seriously HURT for cash if you aren't thick and curvy. Some are opposite. Like the others said, find the one that's best for you. You should know yourself if you're H/W proportionate.

^^^ No shit, right? I'll be sure to tell K and all my customers that they don't really find me attractive even though they think they do, because at 5'1" and 130# with a 27" waist and 37" hips, I'm obviously not carrying my weight well. Penthouse Said So, after all.

You know what I look like. Did you know I weigh more than you? (Last time I checked) I am 5'2 and I weight about 118 pounds. I used to weight 105 pounds, and it was awful. I was scary skinny. I make more money at the size I am now. In fact, I had many customers who knew me at both sizes say-wow you used to be so skinny, you look so much better now that you gained a little bit of weight.
I don't know where I'm going with this- except some of the stuff said in this thread is pretty mean. We don't know what the op looks like-whether she is toned or not. There's only so much you can picture about someone by just knowing their weight....(just for the record my measurement are 33-28-33)

You know, IMHO it comes down to how you look atyour h/w combo. I've seen girls who numbers wise would be "fat" but look awesome, and I've seen ones whose numbers would make you think "slim" and yet they look 'fat' (i'm one of those...if i gain more than 2-3lbs, it shows big time and i look pregnant). Some people can carry weight, others can't. Just look the best you can for your height and weight, and be realistic.

And yeah, sometimes managers will be mean just to be an ass or cause they are having a bad day...it's important to know when that is or isn't the case.

People are always surprised to see me in person because I'm always much shorter than they are! I look tall in photos! I don't get it! You DO need to see me more. I'm shorter than you!

    I just wear big heels.

5'1" 60kg... um... 132 lbs. So two inches shorter than the OP and 2 lbs more.

i guess im fat too at a size 5 and i am 5'3.! LMAO puh-lease!!
i did lose weight tho, i was a size 10 and i was in denial about being a bit on the too heavy side... but i do hear it sooooooo often that people miss my thicker figure. but i feel much better at this size. I had one customer cry out to me"stop dieting now before there is nothing left!"
im happy and content at my weight and shape at size 5/6. its perfect. i dont want to be thinner, or have bones showing. maybe a bit more toned on the belly! but thats it
so if u are size 5 and feel great please dont make urself crash diet and think you are fat! its not a healthy way to think!

    (longish post ahead)
In the entertainment industry, what is considered 'acceptable' and what isn't is markedly different from the real world. This is not limited to strip clubs:

I've done a few castings here and there for different tv/reality shows/glamour modeling and the like in the past where I was flat out rejected and/or told straight out that I was 'a bit too curvy'. Although I had up to that point felt comfortable in my own skin and was pretty sure that no guy in the general public, other than those who ONLY like the traditonal 'model' type would ever agree with the casting directors' decisions, it still stung quite a bit to feel like I wasn't good enough, even for the 'straight world' of entertainment. For a bit of perspective, even at a heavier weight, I still fit (comfortably) in size 1 or 2 jeans and received many compliments in my daily life.

Fast forward to the past 8 months and during that time I have lost about 25+ lbs, going from 135-140 at the high end to weighing 110-112 at 5'5-5'6" at present. I have seen a DRAMATIC increase in my modeling offers, money in the club, and even more admiration from the general male population. It was like reaching a whole new dimension, when you begin to conform to what is the 'industry standard.'

As an aside: Weight is not the only benchmark in the entertainment industry and many women of color (of a variety of ethnicities) STILL face discrimination in the entertainment industry, sometimes even IF they meet the height/weight requirements and ethnicity is something we can not/nor should we (!) change.

I would recommend to the OP that she do all she can to strive to fit the 'beauty standard' to increase employment opportunities and/or continue to keep seeking out different clubs which offer a more holistic view of female beauty.

At my club, it is much easier for me to 'wanna dance' customers than ever before. I had done well with winning over men in the past with being attractive and a great conversationalist but I did not have broader mass appeal.

The women I work with tend to be overwhelmingly on the thin side and when I was curvier, I still fit into the spectrum, but not on the thinner end ( more in the middle). I watched many times as a man I had tried my darndest to charm turn around and go off with a skinnier chick who didn't say more than hello, so I feel the pain of many others who have noted the same experience. I suspect that many of the 'leser caliber' women you may see at the clubs where you may be rejected sre there simply because a) they have been there for years, thus proving employee loyalty and/or reliability and/or 2) They have their 'quota' of the amount of dancers they have set to fulfill what they deem as dancer vareity. I must interject that the same treatment happens to 'ethnic' dancers as well, so this is nothing new to a good percentage of your fellow dancers!

Keep your head up and work hard if you choose to stay in this industry, and accept that you will be praised one minute and kicked off your throne the next. Get in where you fit in, literally (and this is not written to be derisive!) We all assume the possibility of soul-crushing rejection, whether we are actresses, musicians, artists, singers, atheletes and the like. It comes with the territory. However there are many examples of entertainers who create their own following and deviate from the 'industry standard'. Good luck!

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

I don't know. Everyone thinks I'm really tall. I make a great car model because I make the car look bigger, that's what I was told. Hahaha.

    Anyway, back on topic:

If you're happy with who you are, it's all gravy. Someone will like you no matter what and someone will be a dick to you know matter what. I've been told to lose weight and eat a burger in the same day. Men are dicks just because they have to make up for not having one.

SO GROOVE ON WIT YO BAD SELF.

HI L.O.L(lol!) Go somewhere else for awhile you are clearly not fat but that mangager has a fetish for skinny girls. I have seen this before. He probably will be gone after awhile and you can try that club again even though you probably don't need or want to. You can make money anywhere and you don't need that weird club!

Haha, I remember the time I was told to "lose a little weight" by a 400-pound (LITERALLY) manager, eating soup while he was speaking. Between the hours of 4pm-1am, he'd order 3 delivered meals: one was Chinese, one was Mexican, the other one Italian. I am 5'4 and at the time weighed 125 (REALLY skinny looking on me).

Great post London, filled with very useful advice.
    Women of color:
Shake your ass and preserve your heritage.
    Bang those fucking drums.
Do it for the present and future generations.
Have fun and stick it to the man at the same time.

i see the fat card as a cheap cop out. most of the time anyway. because, if you're really fat, they usually just say they'll give you a call.

    i agree...
plus your height and weight isn't fat, just not thin. that particular manager probably just didn't find you attractive enough to work. cuz really, even if a girl is fat..but she still looks good..she'll get hired..
so if you're only bordering being heavy and you didn't get hired, you probably weren't attractive to him.
