    Default Anybody else on Zoloft?

I just started on it yesterday. I was prescribed the 100mg tablets, but the doctor said to start out with 50mg and work my way up.

I felt dizzy this morning for about 45 minutes after taking it. I kept yawning all day today and my teeth have been chattering on and off since last night. It's very slight chattering, and I don't know if it's because I'm cold or what? I do seem to be more sensitive to cold and heat but I may just be imagining that. I had nausea last night, and didn't really have any today but I just don't have much of an appetite. My hands have also been shaking on and off.

I have felt relaxed and unstressed all day today though which was nice. I haven't been in a happy mood but I also haven't been in a bad one either which is a nice change of pace. Anybody else have similar side effects or any experiences with Zoloft?

I used to be on Zoloft. I didn't have any of those side effects though that you described. Most depression medications take a few weeks to work so you aren't going to notice any major changes in your behavior and moods right away. I had no problems with Zoloft and it was alright but Prozac works better for me so I've been on that recently.

Try taking it at night before you go to bed.
Once your body adjusts the side effects should go away.

^^ Yup, you just have to adjust.

I was put on Zoloft in my teen years to combat severe migraine headaches. Once it builds up in your system it really can be helpful.

I used to be on Lexapro and it was okay, but I wanted to try something different. I know it'll take a while for me to adjust to the Zoloft, probably a few weeks, eh?

My neurologist told me generally meds like these take about 2 months to fully start working.

I didn't like Lexapro that much, always made me feel jittery ( like that teeth chattering without being cold feeling?).

I was on Zoloft for about a year and while I didn't have any side effects (apart from super-vivid dreams), I also didn't feel like it really helped me either, even at the max dosage. But I switched to Cymbalta and it worked much better. I think its completely different from person to person. The side effects should definitely die down after a few weeks though, its just your body getting used to have new chemicals.

I hope it does good things for you!

Hahaha I had the yawning and teeth chattering when I was on Zoloft! It seems like not many people have this reaction but sometimes I would just be sitting there yawning continuously for half an hour or so, to the point that my jaw would start to hurt. I think I offended some of my lecturers at uni during this time. But although it does take a while for the drug to take full effect I found the yawning and chattering stopped after about a week. Best of luck with it!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with yawning and teeth chattering! I kept thinking maybe I was just cold or something and I'd be wearing a sweater outside in the 100 degree heat

I've got a 3 month prescription, so I'll take it until it runs out and see if it's helping!
