Wow, I've never had something bad enough to rant about in my own separate forum, but here goes...
I usually work at two clubs at a time in Portland, but I have my one main club. It's a smaller club and the money is only okay but it's reliable, near my house, and I pretty much always get the shifts I want. Plus everyone knows me and I know them, and I trust 99% of the people I work with.
A little less than a year ago, a former dancer/bartender/at one point manager came back to the club as a bartender, and everyone that knew her from before was not enthused. Then it was announced she had become a part (very small part) owner. Some girls actually quit because they remembered her from years back, and she was bad enough that they didn't want to deal with her again.
Time passes and pretty much everything that was said about her is true. She's a control freak, thinks she was the hottest dancer ever (though she only ever danced for 6 months) and can still dance, and won't listen to what anyone has to say. At one point the GM lodged a complaint about her with the main owner trying to get her removed from any position of power because he was so fed up with her. When she's at the bar, she likes to get up on stage and dance and/or flirt with the customers and show them her tits. Nice professional behavior.
I've never really had a problem with her but I've also stayed out of her way, but then they changed the schedule- again- and the new shifts are just horrible. I went in on Monday to get my schedule and she was there so I complained. In a very civil manner, we had a discussion about the new schedule, why it was scheduled a certain way, and why I thought that the new schedule wouldn't work for the girls. Anything I said pretty much bounced off of her so I knew it was no good, but I had to try.
The discussion did NOT get heated at all, and I never said anything about her personally. So imagine my surprise when I hear from the GM that she is now "gunning" for me. I go to the club to get my schedule today and yep, I'm not on it. When I called the booking agent, she told me that this woman had told her not to put me on the schedule and would not give a reason why. The GM, the main manager, the booking agent all told her that she was being ridiculous and this was a bad move, but she wouldn't relent. So it looks like I'm out of a job.
I do my best to stay away from drama but what the hell??? I don't want to have to find a new main club, dammit! I want my old one back sans crazy co-owner!
