Default How to heal OLD bruises?

This past fall- was horsing around and fell down stairs, was okay except for a few major- and i mean deep as hell- bruises on my leg. Sucked it up, and danced with thigh-highs on for about a month.

Now it's coming on summer, and my leg is STILL fucked up. Where the bruises were, there are medium bumps that look like cellulite. I've tried to massage them a bit, but nothing's worked so far.

Does anyone know of any information about healing this? The only thing I can think of is improving circulation, and I'm not getting much info on the net...

Since the bruises were so bad, you might have actually damaged something in your leg like your deepest layer of skin or something.
Do they look like scars? Maybe they're scars but under your skin kinda.

Honey, you need to see a doctor. It sounds like it could be a big problem. The last thing you want is for it to be some kind of blood clot that suddenly dislodges from your thigh and causes you to have a heart attack.

I would definitely see a doctor.

^^^ I figured it was most likely tissue damage. It feels kinda like large knots. I might post pics.

Thanks for the advice, Morgan... I don't like doctors a whole lot, and have no real pain, but I can see where that could be an issue....

Right now I'm just being kind of vain. I already hate my cellulity legs bad enough, now the one looks horrible.

Well, when exactly did this happen?

When I was 6 months preggers with Adrian, I slipped on my stairs and fell on my ass. The bruising and knots that I had were really, really bad. It took about 1 1/2 months for the bruising to go completely away and it took another couple of months for the knots to go away. Now, I did go to the doctor and they said that all was ok, just massive bruising.

What helped me was deep tissue massage several times a day and just waiting it out.

I would like to second Morgan_TX and advise you to go to a doctor. Anytime you sustain that kind of injury you should have it checked out just in case.

Chances are, it's nothing...but no reason to take chances.

    Update when you can.

When i had my nose done some bruises stayed under one eye for a long time and my doctor recommended hot compresses, maybe this could help you too.

I too still have a knot under my skin from a very large bruise 3 months ago. It is nothing to worry about as it will go away in time. There's not much you can do- whether you go to a doctor or not.

Any updates on your bruising? My knot went away, but the area still hurts a bit if I apply pressure, and I can see faint bruising.
