Default help me choose a club in Denver? (sorry, LONG)

I know, there have been 438732534953 threads on Denver, but please bear with me. Some of them are older and things might have changed...and some specific questions I never really found answered in other threads, and...well...I have a million questions because I'm super-nervous about packing my entire life up and moving halfway across the country and having to find a club that fits me out there.

From reading other Denver threads, I've pretty much decided to check out Shotgun Willie's, Penthouse, PT's showclub and La Boheme. If anyone can give me any answers about any of these clubs, I'd be eternally grateful.

What are the schedule requirements? Do any of these clubs make you work day shifts? Are schedules made by the week? Do you get to make your own schedule, or do they give you assigned shifts? If you want to pick up extra shifts that you're not scheduled for, can you just walk in and do that?

What's the dress code for dancers, at any of these clubs? I know LDs at most of these places cost $20; does the house take a cut? What about CR and VIP prices/club cuts? What about house fees, how much are they? And of course, I have to ask about expected/usual contact levels...

With regard to Shotgun Willie's...I was looking at their website and they had this whole "no hustle, no hassle; just come in and relax..." paragraph on there...wtf does that mean? You're not allowed to hustle?

And about the other, PT-owned clubs...suppose I started at one and it just wasn't the right fit for me. Would I be able to leave and work at another PT club, as long as I left on good terms and all...or is it one of those things where I'd be blacklisted from working at any of their clubs if I quit one? The fact that all but one of the major clubs are owned by the same company makes me nervous. I like to have options!

It might help to tell you what kind of club I'm looking for: an upscale/midscale club (not a dive or a small "neighborhood bar" club, but also not a gown club). I like a nice even mix of white collar/blue collar, with a bit of a "party" vibe. Obviously I want a club that's on the clean side and that will mesh with my boundaries. I'm okay with grinding and two-way contact (everywhere but the pussy); I'm not okay with clubs where fingering/crotch touching/boob licking (or more) is the norm/expected. Either nude or topless is fine with me, but I don't want to work in a no-alcohol or BYOB club.

And the most important thing to me is...I'm a wannadance girl, for lack of a better term. I cannot work in a club where it's all about the slow, conversation based, sit-down-and-sell-a-CR hustle. I like to lap-hop, I'm good at the fast hustle: a minute or two of light, sexy banter, and then off to the couch room for a string of dances. And I need to find a club that will fit my lap-hopping style.

So...I apologize once again for starting yet another Denver thread. And if anyone can give me any info about any of the clubs I mentioned, and/or recommend which clubs you think would fit me based on what I said above...I will seriously owe you one when I get out to Denver.

(Also...if I want to go in and check out any of these clubs before I audition, will they let me do that? Or would I need to pick up some strange Denverian guy at the door to be my "escort"? )

No need for an escort to check out Denver clubs.

Shotgun's does make a schedule for it's entertainers every week. You make a schedule request and they usually don't deviate from it. Minimum 1 day a week, max of 4. You can pick up shifts but you got to call beforehand. If it's a busy saturday and they already have 60 girls scheduled they will tell you no.

House fee's are $32-$52 I beleive. You most certainly can hustle... I think the website is more reffering to the lack of VIP/bottle service hustle (they don't have a VIP/champagne room set up). You keep all the $$$ from your dances. Like every other club in Denver, you can be bought "off the list". A custie can buy you off of stage rotation by the hour. The $$$ is for your time only, dances are still $20 per song. The unique thing about the 'Gun is that they don't have a standardized price for it, you negotiate the price with the custie, no less than $100 per hour and the club gets $20 per hour.

La Boheme's off time list is $150 per hour, house takes $20 per hour. You pay out $5 for your first two dances, keep everything for all other dances... honestly, since PT's bought them I don't know if they still take a cut from your first two dances anymore. Housefee's are $42, $52, & $62 depending on how late you come in. They do put out some kind of schedule, but since they only have 60 girls on thier roster, they'll gladly let you pick up a shift all you got to do is show up.

They seem to be okay with letting the girls shuffle around PT's clubs... I know they've swapped girls between Diamond Caberet and La Bo- not sure if they let you move around to all thier clubs.

    Thanks for the info

I guess SW is off my list...having a max of 4 nights would suck. Actually, having a schedule made for me would suck too. Maybe I'm spoiled, but having to make my own schedule a month in advance in Philly was annoying enough...I'd have a hard time with the club telling me when to work. But I guess if you're an employee there, they can do that.

^^^ eh, I saw plenty of girls that worked more than 4 shifts a week. Like I said, you make a schedule request and they rarely make changes to it. In three + years of working there I didn't get what I wanted from my schedule twice... I was down to one day a week when I was in school and they tried to sneak in an extra shift on me a couple of times. When I told them I couldn't do it, they didn't press me to come in.

Honestly, from what you want in a club I think Shotgun's would be the best fit for you... You may like La Bo but the girls there can be very mean to newbies and they don't get nearly the kind of traffic the 'Gun gets.

It's more of a blue collar crowd but you may want to check out PT's Showclub... Topless and nude dances and a full bar.

Thanks yet again OK, SW's back on the list. What kind of traffic/clientele does Penthouse get? Is that more of a sit-down-and-hustle-CRs club?

^^^ sorry, not very knowlegable on Penthouse... my friends who have worked ther say it's pretty much feast or famine- again, not first hand knowledge.

I can tell you that La Bo and Diamond Caberet consistantly have higher selling averages than Penthouse when it comes to liquor sales and covercharges.

Just thought that I would add that everything Mia said is true . You are awesome Mia!

I work at La Bo but I haven't been there very long and I only work part-time. I don't know if I can give the best advice since I am still very new to the Denver club scene.

I can add that La Bo does not take a cut from your lap dance $$$. They do charge $30 per hour you are bought off the list. House fees are $22 for the day-shift and $42-$62 for night-shift. Usually you can not start any later than 9pm.

You are expected to tip the DJ, house-mom, and security staff who walk you to your car. Try and tip as well as you can...this helps in the long run. As a newbie I seem to be fitting in okay but I am only there 2 nights a week. I also try extra hard to stay low key and keep on everyones good side.

I find that night shifts are easier for me to hustle than days...but that is just my style. I see other girls that do okay with day-shifts. The club can be strict about the rules but in general I find management to be pretty fair. I wish the dress code was a little more relaxed though. Mostly they want you to wear little cocktail dresses.

I say you are best off just trying a couple of clubs until you find the one you feel most comfortable at. Each girl's experience will be different at each club depending on her likes and personality. Good luck!!!

You're pretty kick ass yourself, Ava... Thanks for the clarification. Whenever Mr. M starts talking about work I always ask dancer related questions- just in case it comes in handy here... sometimes, I get a little mixed up about the numbers so I'm glad you're around to give first hand info!

Awwww shucks . I'm sure a lot of things changed after the buy out. I started there after it happened so the new rules are all that I know . I always wonder if it was very different before.

Snap! They've hiked them up over the past 2 years! Makes sense since they were always bitching that the entertainers would never pay more than the minimum on thier taxes and everyone who came in after 12pm paid $42... I always paid between $45-$60 working days and claimed different amounts of tips earned. They're still taxes, right? Or have they gone to independent contractors and housefee's?

thank god for Brendita, too... I think I've outlived my usefulness in CC.

    I can answer Penthouse questions.
Schedule requirements are three days a week. I know a dancer who worked at Diamond Cabaret and was only on the schedule at Penthouse two nights, but if it's your only PTs club, I'm pretty sure it's 3 days a week. You are an independent contractor, so you choose your own schedule with an exception...if you are new, you canNOT work work only three peak days in a row. Ex: Thursday, Friday, Saturday. You have to work an "off" night. I work Wed-Fri. Schedules are flexible, but if you don't make a change to your schedule with management, it's the same every week. If you want to pick up extra shifts, talk to management.
Dress code has been going through some back and forth lately. They tried to make us a gown club, but it didn't work out so well. You can wear booty shorts and a bikini top, but to go up in VIP, I believe (Unless they've changed it from last week) you have to wear a gown regardless of how long you'll be up there. Then again, they change this stuff so often, God knows what it really is.
Lap dances are $20 for topless, $30 for all nude. House does NOT take a cut. You pay house fees and tip out and that's it. VIP and VIP booths are never quite clear, I'd talk to management. House fees vary depending on the day and what time you come in. For example, if you come in at, say, 11 am when the club opens, I believe there are no fees (Don't quote me on it). The topout for fees appears to be $60 on busy nights (Thursday-Saturday).
Contact levels are technically supposed to be 12 inches according to our contract, but no one abides it and no one enforces it. Not even the cops give a shit, as long as you're not giving the customer a BJ or having sex or rubbing one off for them.
No breast or vaginal contact allowed. Breast stuff happens sometimes, but you're pretty much justified to react accordingly with warning. Some guys just don't know.
Penthouse, in my opinion, has the mix of blue and white collar, but it's still party atmosphere. That's why I work there. It's my favorite club in the Denver Metro area, and I think it offers something to a lot of people. You can hustle however you want. Three stages, one very tall pole, two bars, nude stage, private dance area is decent, generally friendly girls there.

    I think that's it??

thanks! That does sound like my speed (and I was looking at the pics on their website the other day and it looks just like my old club in Philly, lol. Maybe I'm nuts, but I take things like that as signs sometimes. )

So...the not working 3 peak nights in a row thing...how long do you generally have to be there before that doesn't apply to you anymore?

Or are you saying that you just can't ONLY work the three peak nights? Like, what if I wanted my schedule to be Sun, Mon, Thurs/Fri/Sat? Would that be ok because I'm also working two "slow nights"?

As it is now I'm thinking I'll check out Penthouse and PT's showclub first.

You're correct, you can work all peak nights as long as you have non-peak nights also. We could definitely use more girls, our management cleaned house a few weeks ago and got rid of some bad element, which left us a little short. You can audition whenever, pretty much, but call first and speak to a director. I can give you names of the managers and directors via PM if you'd like. Just make sure you wear your thong and some heels, and something to cover your ass while you're on the floor. Definitely check out Penthouse. It's my fav club. I love our directors and managers. They're great, and our corporate guy who comes in sometimes has always been really freakin' cool with me.

that would be awesome. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply; I really appreciate it. I'm definitely going to check out penthouse; it sounds like the kind of clubs I like working in out here on the east coast.
