    Default Slendertone

My fitnessy friends; I know you will all be appalled. Here's the thing: I have a friend who is very overweight. Losing it is not going to happen right now, perhaps not ever. She is very big in front. In addition she spend a lot of time lugging around, well, another person. A large person. An adult, not like carrying a baby. This is obviously hard on her back. Do these machines work? Like at all? Nobody expects rock hard abs, or for her to be a supermodel, but do they strengthen you at all? Like in comparison to nothing?

Please nobody recommend crunches or situps. If I could make her do crunches or sit ups or jog or swim I would. It's not on the table.

OMG.....that thing!! I had that thing in high school and would wear it to school all the time!!

Well that shit was TORTURE. Seriously....some of the shocks it does HURT your stomach. Shocks the shit out of you.

Sometimes I felt a little more toned with it, but not really. I think since it beats the shit out of your stomach, its supposed to feel like your stomach has the nice "just did 300 crunches" sore to it. But no I only saw minor results, and I worked out like CRAZY on top of wearing that (500 crunches a day and pilates abs workout video). Its definitely not worth the pain it will put you in.

There used to be a place by my house called " Inches a Weigh" that had gimmics like that. I don't think they helped the overweight women there too much because it went out of business.

They would just lie on these table machines
and get vibrated and shook. To me with out the actual exercise it seems like a gimmic. I don't know never tried that product you linked.
Let us know if you do. Good luck to your friend and her weight loss.

Damn. It's just that I spend an afternoon lugging around a person and my back is killing me. Day in and day out, and with the big stomach, she must be suffering, you know?

I'm just confused as to why you and your friend are lugging around adult sized peoples... is this some kind of canadian humour? Is she carer? does she have an invalid husband?? So confused....

It's my mother. My grandmother is an invalid and she doesn't walk very well.

(I was tempted to write: "In Canadia we just have very large babies.")

If it did work, I think it would work less on someone with a big layer of fat over their muscles. The electricity just wouldn't get to the muscles. Also (and I hope this doesn't sound too wierd, it's science, I swear) the human electromagnetic field is actually pretty important to our functioning, and that has some serious de-polarizing potential.
