Don't throw them out. Just put them in a bag or a box. Even the things that still have a price tag on them that you never wore. Write a date like 6 months in the future.

Seriously, you won't even remember what's in there. 6 months from now, go sell that stuff or give it away! It really works and then with more closet space you can really see the clothes you actually use.

    Good luck!
I have 4 large bins of clothes and one of shoes in the garage... theyve been there for about 2 months now. I wonder whats in there? Hmmmmm.....

I think like VG on this one. I

eh, this may sound lame but i do it sometimes, it still involves buying something on impulse, but at least its less damage to your wallet if youre gonna do it.

Instead of getting the pricey so-and-so that you're fiending, try buying a small pack of candy, and eating it. (or carry some candy or gum on you already)

Instant gratification, doesnt take up space back at the base, and the party of flavor in your mouth distracts you from thinking about whatever you wanted while you continue treat yourself. Psychologically and physically it helps me feel"full" for just a bit, it works for me alot when im out and surrounded by temptation.

I do use the "buy something, throw something out/give it away" idea and it works well for me!

I also wait 24 hours before I hit the "buy button",I shop online a lot.

When I do go to a mall,I do a "browse through" and jot down "considerations"...then I go have a coffee and figure out what I REALLY want and buy that.

Usually I do make a MAC stop or buy new polish or something else small to sweeten the day as well.

Oh god thats my weakness, MAC. I have dropped thousands on MAC,Chanel, etc.
I am forcing myself to go on a no buy. Because I dont wear the products enough
to warrant that kind of spending. I am just obsessed over the colors.
Thanks for the great tips girls

But like I said, perhaps I overthink these things.
That's what I do, sort of...I compare the cost to what that amount would earn in savings/investments, compounded over 40 years. It makes a motherfucking latte cost $15+, and is severely crippling when it comes to implulse purchasing.

    Feature costumes for sale!
