Default Had my 1st colonic today...Warning GROSS

Well I decided to finally get a colonic after wanting to try it for ages.
The cost is 165 for three. Takes about an hour each time.I decided
to go because my stomach is constantly painfully bloated and I have
chronic gas. Also I do not have bowel movements every day.

You just lay on your side, she inserts a thing that reminds me of a tampon
up your bum. Then you lay on your back. The tube in your ass does not hurt fyi.
The colon hydrotherapist will tell you to let them know when you feel pressure
(this is when they are filling you up with the water.)
This was pretty uncomfortable for me because I felt like I had to relieve myself
in the worst way right there.
You could see the glass tube in the colonic machine, with everything coming out.
I had A LOT of bile which is the yellow liquid from your liver or something.
She was massaging my stomach throughout. She would fill my colon up with water and then empty it out.She did this about 7 times.
I could also see a lot of mucus, and particles of poop.

After I left I did notice I felt way better, my stomach was flatter, and the pressure was relieved.

Im going back! She said on the second colonic more of the impacted feces
that is stuck in the colon comes loose. Great!
    Haha

I love how people are actually paying for what is more or less a fancy medical enema. The hilarity of colonics never ceases to get me! If it works for you, rock on, but I will sit in the waiting room gigling.

^^^You dont get all of those things out with a home enema kit unfortunatly.

Thanks for the review Mallory, I am going to try this soon I swear. Ive feel funny about someone dealing with tubes up my arse, but I feel that I should overcome this!

I LOVE colonics!! The more you go the better your sessions will get. Usually they recomend 6-once per week and then once a month as maintenance. I have been doing it for awhile and recommend it to everyone--even my manager! I love the feeling of being light and healthy, nothing beats it. Be sure to drink plenty of water.

I breath in, when the water and poo is released it just kinda feels nice...like you just went to the bathroom and you feel satisfied. The only time it feels uncomfortable is if some if stuck and it wont come out then it feels like really painful gas, and holding it in, and you get really nauseas. That happened to me only because I don't drink enough water and my poo isnt as soft as it should be.

If you have netflix, there is a Penn and Teller "Bullshit" episode on their watch it now about those. (They actually showed someone getting one which was just like you described.) I've never believed the hype about your body not being able to rid itself of waste, but I think it was a good idea with your issues.

As for the bile... I don't think that's what it was. I think it was just poop-colored water. Shooting water up your butt wouldn't wash out your liver...

I did it a month or two ago a couple times. Like MsQwerty said, I think its just a fancy enema. I wasn't impressed.

Penn & Teller are wankers IMO. They are good at taking the talk but if you know the subject theyre crapping on about well you (In my experience) can find many holes in their arguments.
I havent seen theit Colonics episode, but I prefer not to watch their show anyhow

I didnt say that at all - I am very much pro-colonics

Edited to add - considering that vast amounts of people (especially in America) do not poo regularly or properly, I think both enemas and colonics are a pretty sensible idea for a lot of people!

Gosh Ive talked about poo a lot today, lol!

I had one last year but didn't follow up. Thanks Mallory for sharing Don't forget to update this when you get your second one....I wanna see if you see a difference between the 1st and 2nd one.

Ugh I think I'm gonna schedule myself for them weekly....I really need to get the bloat in my stomach down. I've been exercising, it just feels like theres a lot of crap in there.

So apparently,( laymans terms, lol) there's layers of crap stuck to the walls of yoru intestines. Colonics help break down these layers and flush that crud out. The first colonic doesn't get to much done Its the subsequent ones hat start breaking down that crap and flushign it out. I used to get colonics once a month, ut got to poor and stopped going. I always felt much etter afterward.

Once, I decided to give myself a home enema the night before..my thinking was that if I got some of the easy crap, the colonic would get more done. Proof that hoem enema's dont do much really, because the colonic the next day still got a lot of stuff out. It's pretty impressive actually..how much poo you hav stored in there.

Colonics helped my bloating and stomache aches a lot. Never made me thinner, but when I was having a stressful time and had tons of stomach aches and got severly bloated, this was a lifesaver for me. It helped immensly.

    Well...off to eat pizza now

oh..speakign of food..colonics work tons betterif you got first thign in the morning before eating. or have a smoothie for breakfst. Dont eat a heaavy meal like pizza then go get one. You will be in a world of hurt. I did that onnce, and the crmping was so bad I had to end things early....PLus..it won't work as well.

I would love to do a weekend fast with colonics one day where I get a colonic on friday, fast with just fruit smoothies all weekend and get a second colonic on Monday. I think that would be really beneficial.

Meh. I don't believe the hype. If you feel better, awesome, but i don't like the risks much to go ahead to try it.

Is colon hydrotherapy extremely safe and gentle?

Yes. Colon hydrotherapy is one of the most gentle body therapies and thus extremely safe. Safety is a relevant term, though, that is dependent upon the equipment used and the therapists handling the equipment. The Tummy Temple uses only top of the line equipment, the Aquanet EC-2000, with built in safety mechanism that exceed the FDA standards. The Aquanet EC-2000 is also a closed system, vs. an open system, and thus uses special rectal speculums designed to ensure the health and safety of the colon. The speculum and tubes used are prepackaged and will only be used once, then disposed. Our staff of colon hydrotherapists are professionally trained, certified and tested on the equipment to ensure they know how to handle the equipment accordingly. However, for some, colon hydrotherapy is not advised. For a list of the conditions and symptoms that are contraindicated click here. An interesting fact is that with new colon therapy equipment treatments are much safer than the common enema!

A colon hydrotherapy session cleans the entire five feet of colon, unlike an enema which cleanses only the sigmoid colon, the lower 8-12 inches of the bowel. This helps to reestablish normal bowel movements by restoring muscle tone and normal peristalsis.

I should really do this. TMI TMI TMI TMI but:

My poop is like little rocks though, and I barely ever go so I bet I have A TON up there.

Do you think that these would help me? No matter how much water I drink they're always like little rocks...how embarrassing would it be if they clogged the tube...ewww...ahah.

I would love to clear it all out though....

Watch this video on you tube (you can skip the intro)
it shows the bile being released from the colon from the colonic.
My therapist told me I had large amounts of bile.

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6kL6GIe-iu8

I breath in: I am pretty sure colonics would help you with IBS. And
no it does not hurt, I did get som stomach cramping at times was
a little like period cramps. Not painful though.
Just some pressure in my stomach from the water filling my colon.
No problem glad you guys found it informative and I will post a follow
up regarding my second colonic. The first does not do much.
