    audition outfit!!

ladies, i need your help! i ordered a couple outfits from snaz75 and i was wondering if they are fit for an audition. what kind of outfits did you guys wear for a successful audition?

These are the ones i just got today:
    http://www.snaz75.com/s-96956.html
    http://www.snaz75.com/s-96958.html

The first one i'm having trouble w/ because i have little boobies and can't hold the shirt up too well haha the second one's ok. i'm just wondering if they are appropriate? i'm trying out rick's, flash, and stiletto carlsdat

i hope those are ok, i didn't buy a gown or anything. i'm so nervous, i just really need to get hired at one of these places!! thank you so much guys!!

edit: i forgot to add that both of the skirts have attached thongs in them.. is that ok, or do i have to cut the thong out for when i take the skirt off? or do you guys just leave the whole thing on?

    Hi deary,
Those outfits are perfect (and i have them both! good taste ). I would suggest cutting the thong out of the first skirt, but leave the second in.
Are they nude clubs? If not i would leave the second skirt on and wear a pair of stockings.

If they're topless clubs, you'll need to make sure that thong is legal. I'm in Texas and they have a law about our thongs, they have to have lining in them. The thongs in those skirts are probably not the legal kind. Check to see if you'll need a legal thong The outfits are perfect for an audition!

Sorry, but both Ricks and Flash are gown clubs. I know for a FACT that you have to have a long gown to audition at Ricks, and Flash doesn't allow two piece anything.

Unfortunately in NYC you can't really get around wearing gowns.

something that you practice getting on and off easily. trust me when your nervous, it really helps to have an outfit you can get on and off easy and gracefully.

sorry, another question... do you guys wear bras under the gowns? or should you be topless when you remove the gown? i usually wear a bra with some padding.. that would look a lot better in a gown than if i didn't have anything under.

topless. i fear if you wore something with a bra under it you would be looked at quite oddly.

burlesque dancers tend to wear lingerie under dresses but that a whole nother ball game.

Personally, I think it looks stupid to wear a bra under any stripper outfit unless it's part of the actual outfit. That's just my though

Yha, no bra. It's kindda tacky, aahha, how funny is that!

If you have to wear gowns, I would go into a stripper store and try some on and practice taking them off. Things like fabric (if it's really flowy or thin) are going to get caught in things or torn easily. The weight of the fabric is important to me because things that are heavier just drop down to the ground and after usually easy to step out of. Also things like decorative holes and beads can get stuck on your shoes...

None of these are really big deals, but when I was new I wanted to look as smooth as possible in the unrobing department, to make up for the rest.

    Good luck!

I'm new to the gown game...I just make sure to start taking my dress off right before the second song starts. Lean against the pole with your back and slide it down, then hold the pole as you take it off each foot. Hair stays intact this way.

When you're putting your dress back on, begin early again. When the next girl comes up, sit down on the tip rail near the stairs or off to the side so you don't take away attention from the girl who replaced you. Sit there, make sense of your gown, put it back on that way. The big thing is not to rush and bust your ass.

I always make a joke like "Damn, you think they'd make these things super easy to get in and out of...its my job after all!" if some guy is staring or says something.

^ Slight threadjack, but do you like wearing gowns or do you wish you were able to wear the typical stripper outfits?

My club is gown/short dress during the week, then on Saturday nights its a "lingerie party" and we can wear pretty much whatever except gowns and dresses, so I have the opportunitym to wear different kinds of stripper gear. I enjoy wearing the short dresses and long gowns more than Saturday b/c I'm not a big fan of two piece outfits.

^ That's nice that you have days to wear other things. I'd like to wear a gown, but it would look so off at my club

Lol YES. I actually have a couple of gowns that I bought before I realized how out-of-place they'd look at my club. Some girls get away with it by wearing something really really simple, but I work 100% off of bikinis.

i'd actually love to be able to wear both, like at Aubrey's club. If you don't mind telling me which club do you work at? You can pm me if you'd like
I love miniskirt sets w/ legwarmers, but I also love dresses. It's all in the mood i guess. It would probably be harder for me to get used to dancing in a dress though.

Hey guys, I am a newbie, (about to start stripping) but I am very carefully planning my stripping wardrobe out. I, too, have big boobies and I also know the format for a three song set seems to be to take at least one item off during/before each song. So, I figured I needed to have at least three items or layers total. Is this correct? (The clubs I will be working at will be topless, not nude, so I have to make sure I end up with SOMETHING on.) Any thoughts or advice to this effect?

For a three song set, you just wear your dress/gown whatever for the first song, then strip down to your thong for the last two. No need to take something off each song. They'll explain this all to you when you start at your new club, b/c each place has its own rules.

For example, at my club we are allowed to get neekid right when we get up on stage if we want. I frequently do this...for some reason I feel funny dancing in a gown.

I work at a rick's....not in new york though.....and we have to wear gowns.....I have found that long (normal) shirts and short dresses you would wear over like leggings do very well..plus I can wear them outside the club with jeans ect......tubes dresses esp....I have bought lacey bras or the bikini tops for dancers for under the dresses to hold up my boobs.....adds an extra layer to take off and I wear a decorative garter belt (sequins, bows extra on it) that I don't actually hook to my thigh highs that I can take off and play with during the last song

In NYC none of that would fly. You don't wear normal clothes in the club (and what you're describing isn't even a gown?), and I'm pretty sure garter belts wouldn't even be allowed. No bras or tri tops under your gown please...

If you haven't danced before, a big part of whats going to give your your confidence on your frist day is what you're wearing. Don't try to stick out like a sore thumb... buy a gown off the internet or go to a stripper store. Get something eye catching and sexy but something that won't make you look like you have no clue what you're doing. You don't want to draw bad attention to yourself by wearing something like a bra under your gown on your first day.

Yeah, I am ultimately going to go for a more alternative (retro/pin up/burlesque) look, but I wanted to start out with something that would generally be acceptable at any club so that I can get my foot in the door, find the right club, and find my niche. So, I want something relatively classy and unique, but that would (ideally) not look out of place anywhere. Thanks for all of the advice, ladies!

Look at what all the other girls are wearing. Take note of which ones are getting the most dances, how do they use their bodies hair or clothing to get dances? How do they get undressed or dressed when entering or exiting the stage? Every single thing you say and how you move will usually be the deciding factor whether u get a piece of their wallet or not. Be slow, don't be clumsy, be confidant - not unsure of your self- especially in front of the bosses or the customers.
