I would approach a table, smile, and say, "Mind if I join you?" and be told NO! This happened THREE TIMES last night! There were four girls (including me) crying in the dressing room.
This is ridiculous. I made $15 last night (owed $15 DJ, $10 house), so I paid $10 to the DJ and $5 to the house. Tonight, I owe DJ & house $5 each. And Fridays are not normally big money-makers for me.
This is just killing me. I haven't broken $100 the last 4 nights I've worked (84, 40, 55, and -5, to be precise), and this is working 7-9 hour shifts! Nobody else is earning anything, either. So how can I keep my motivation up? I'm basically planning to work 6 days a week for the next two weeks, starting tonight. I NEED the money so I can get down to Dallas this summer. How can I keep motivated and get myself back in the swing of things?
