Default Southern Belles in Charlotte (Or alternatives?)

    Hey there all,

I was planning on making my stripping debut at Southern Belles in Charlotte, NC because I have the hookup there, but I wanted to investigate the alternatives first.

I am 21, have giganto natural titties and have been told I have a nice ass by many, (although I disagree). I am a dancer through and through (that is- classically trained, etc.) and I have a dancer's body.

I am a bit of a renegade and I definitely am looking for a no-bullshit club where I can be myself and have fun. I have a bit of a retro-pinup girl vibe going on, and I would like to be able to carry it through to the club I'm at, although I'm willing to conform a bit, if it means more money.

Anyone have an info on Southern Belles? I have heard good things, but there isn't much on SW about the club, and none of it is recent. Also their website is down, which has me a bit concerned.

Otherwise, do you have any other info about clubs? I actually live in Asheville, NC, so I would be commuting to strip for 3-5 days a week. I am willing to go elsewhere, and I have considered The Oasis in Atlanta as well. (Although I am not yet sure about being nude and I am DEFINITELY not interested in high-contact dances.) I have someone I can stay with in Atlanta, but I don't anywhere else, so if you have any suggestions to that effect as well, they would be appreciated. (I am in a desperate money situation and I was loaned the money to get my stripping supplies, so I really can't afford to make a deposit- even if I had a place to crash on a couch for a few days while I got enough money to go elsewhere would be supremely appreciated.)

Thanks so much for all of your help (in advance) I really appreciate it!

    BB

I've never heard of Southern Belles. I'd check out The Men's Club http://www.mensclub.com/jobs2/tmcc/dancerstmcc.html which a more upscale club. Then I'd check out the Uptown Caberet downtown. http://www.uptowncabaretclubs.com/website/index.php . I'd also check out The Gentlemen's club and The Gold Club which are both owned by MAL entertainment. http://www.malentertainment.com/

So, I have been looking at both Uptown and The Men's Club- I think Uptown sounds better, but I need to be able to go to Charlotte and work right away (I am going to be commuting, sort of.) Anyway, on the website it says you need to go to amateur night or go talk to the housemom. This will be my first time stripping and, although I am not at all shy about my body OR about performing, I don't have any experience on a pole, so I would rather not have to audition. Does anyone know how easy it is to get hired without auditioning? Also, what are people wearing? I have my own look that I am pursuing, but I would rather look a bit more conformative initially, if it means getting my foot in the door. Uptown looks open to some alternative looks, based on the photos on the gallery. Does either club go for any sort of alternative look? Any other information- expected income (I am totally prepared for hustling!), VIP/CR availability and pricing? It looks like The Men's Club only has air dances, what about Uptown? How much are dances? What kind of contact can be expected? Anything else? Thanks in advance for your help, feel free to PM me. I am really excited about stripping, but a bit overwhelmed, because it will be my first time living completely on my own and I will be in a strange city where I don't know anyone. I really appreciate any insights you have!

I recommend stopping by one night to check out what the other girls are wearing. The only rule I can remember is you can't wear fluorescent gear and you have to wear a regulation t-back.

When I danced there there was a gothish-like girl or maybe Suicide-girl type who'd play marilyn manson and definitely had her own style of movement (think demon-creature). That said, they are open to different looks and like to appeal to a range of customers. I'm sure there are more with that style now that it's a lot more trendy.

I got the job immediately. I walked in and they asked when I could start. They started me on the day shift (I guess that was the audition process) and then moved to swing shift (half day, half night = best schedule IMO). With swing shift, you don't have to do the stage at night if you don't want and can just hustle for dances.
I had minimal experience on the pole but if your strong and can copy whatever you see quickly, you'll be find. When I was there i was one of maybe 5 girls who could even climb it. The poles there ROCK btw.

Lol. That is too fucking funny. (And, off-topic, how do I directly quote on here? I could only coy and paste...) Anyway, I think that will work for me. My style is mostly retro/pin up girl. I eventually want to move more towards burlsque stylings, but that takes money. I am using what I have as much as possible. As for the T-back, do you know if there are any specific requirements, or a place that is in Charlotte and easy to get to where I could get one? A friend is bringing me to Charlotte to check out the club and the place I'm going to be living. I don't have enough to get into that place I'm living until I work a bit, so I am trying to do everything at once and I would like to be prepared with regulation T-back in hand so I can begin working right away. I have looked at LOTS of stripper clothes recently and I have seen some T-Backs that don't look much different then G-Strings, so I'm a tad bit confused. Maybe a link or two? I will find

I have experience doing aerial circus work, so I am expecting the transition to pole to be not-too complicated. I am actually excited about it, but I want to look good when I go for it. I'm a classically trained dancer and too much of a perfectionist (about some things) to go for anything else.

Thanks so much for the info, Ameerah!

    Hey BB
I don't remember the stores names. Aubreyy probably does. I just remember being sent home because I was in a g-string one day. Oops.

I wish I could see your show. Pin-up girl plus aerialist is HOT!

Okay, so I have done a bit more looking:

http://store.americanapparel.net/rsa6301.html I love the idea of AA, and the price but I assume this will not last too long... am I right?

This one may be better, and it's cheaper: http://www.tinysexythongs.com/1/cotton-t-back.htm

The second thong isn't a T-back. You'll want the least amount of fabric on the back or you'll look like a total newb. There is a new girl at my club that works in these hideous huge high-rise thongs and they look so bad and total scream "I have no clue what I'm doing here".

Start with a black one that can be worn with anything and go from there. Some outfits that you buy will come with thongs though.

The Men's Club doesn't have a pole on the main stage. Don't go to MAL's Leather and Lace the dances are five bucks there and they run two for ones all night.

Different clubs will allow you wear different things. The Men's Club is going to require some gowns but they do have a shop inside that sells them so a custy can buy you one.

The Gold Club and Uptown Cabaret might be better for an alternative look and will be more easy-going on the dress code. I haven't worked at any clubs but the Men's Club four years ago and the air dances started at 20 bucks at the table. Now I understand they have VIP/Champagne upstairs which I am sure are more.

I don't know about contact at the other clubs I mentioned I don't think it's allowed at Uptown Caberet. The best thing you can do is just go in one night and be like a custy, watch, see and ask. Tip the girls you like and they'll probably give you some pointers. Then if your still interested talk to the manager.

I know the owners of the MAL clubs seem pretty easy-going and are just plain old country men and bike riders. I know they also have one in Rock Hill, SC called Emerson's. It seemed to have all types of girls there but is all nude. The table dances I think were 15 but the lap dances were 30 or 35. Haley there is really nice. I use to work for a club in Hilton Head, SC owned by MAL.

There is a place called Earth Angel's on Independence Blvd. in Charlotte it use to be next to Infinity's End. They have a huge selection just be careful I think the owner is a bit shady. He asks you to model the clothes for him but I think he's harmless he usually has a man and woman working for him in there.

The next place I think would be more expensive and have less selection is "The Red Door", it's a chain and there is also one of those on East Independence Blvd.

Thanks for all of the tips! I wasn't fond of the second thong I posted, either, but all of the descriptions of the T-Back said it had "more fabric" then a G-string. I was looking for bigger stuff thinking that I wanted to make sure I wasn't violating any laws/rules, but it seems like anything is okay as long as there isn't a string up your ass to the point where you can't see it, right? I think, in that case, I should be fine.

    *Update*

So, for various reasons, I haven't been able to go to Charlotte yet, but I am going on Wednesday to check everything out. (I am very nervous/excited!) Does anyone know of any cheap hotels or hostels I could stay in for a night? Also, does anyone have any info on what the Uptown Cabaret's fees are like? (I would also be interested in any other info on club fees in Charlotte you have.) Thanks so much!

I don't know what the rates go for downtown. But the nicer hotels downtown where the club is at are going to go for more. Just go to www.travelocity.com or www.expedia.com find the cheapest hotel for Charlotte, NC and book directly with the hotel. You should be able to take the light rail or a cab to the club if you don't drive.
