    Smiley The best advice

I wanted to start a thread where we all list the single best piece of advice we've received (or discovered) so far working in this industry! It can be about anything stripper related i.e. hustle tips, makeup tips etc.

    I'll start:
Always at least look and act like you're incredibly excited to be at work and dancing! Nobody wants to sit with and get dances from a boring or pissed off girl.

Animals are my friends, and I don't eat my friends.

Don't get discouraged and sit in the corner. It might be like pulling teeth at first, but talk to everyone you can.

Positive spin. (I broke my shoe, at least I didn't break my leg.)

Appearences are decieving. (The youngest or badly dressed custumer can be loaded.)

Always be a big tipper. (It comes back to you.)

    Karma. Sweet, sweet karma.

A customer will ALWAYS remember the bitch that ripped him off. (You can throw a drink on him and still get a dance in the future, taking advantage of him is not repairable.)

Not exactly stripper advice, but my favorite life advice: I would never trade my problems for someone elses.

I just had a brand new dancer ask me for advice. What I told her was to always smile. Someone's always watching. Don't pick your nose or ass 'cause the guy across the room who thinks you're hot saw it. Be super flirty and cuddly. You should always be able to walk with at least $100. That's selling five $20 dances in a room full of x amount of guys. During lap dances if you're not sure of yourself just move super slow with eye contact and a sexy smile. Be fluid. On stage, slow down!! You're not in a dance club. Exaggerate your moves. You want the guy at the back bar to see you kick that leg! Stop pissing off the manager, he's going to fire your ass. Hehe

Always put on your best show! I can not count the number of times I've given a lap dance or 4 and had a random guy notice how hot it was and WAIT for the guy guy I'm dancing for to get up to sit right next to me and tell me to keep going.

Even if some one is being annoying I still make it look really hot because you never know who's watching.

ALWAYS smile! On stage, walking around the floor, during convo and when you giving dances. Nothing is more tacky to me than the girls who, when having their back to the custy look bored and uninterested as hell. No guy seeing that is going to want a dance from a girl that looks that bored and not into it.

Stay out of the dressing room! Just stay out.

Don't give up! I know as much as anyone how easy it is to sit down and sulk or want to pass people up because they don't look worth it, but don't do it!! Even if no one says yes, at least you'll have the peace of mind that you tried your hardest, not just letting the money pass you by.

    Always be learning!
Learn new moves, hustles, looks, techniques. Don't let yourself and your customers get bored!

Make eye contact. It's hard at first to actually make eye contact with customers, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second-nature, and I get a LOT of customers who buy my hustle hook, line, & sinker, just because I look them in the eyes.

never discuss with anyone how much you make. it's unprofessional and causes animosity between dancers.

Attitude is everything! If you are feeling negative, think of what makes you happy and what you have to look forward to, even if its just Del Taco after work LOL. Anything to change your mindset to positive will automatically draw people into you.
Have you ever noticed how leaving a VIP room puts you in a good mood? Therefore getting the ball rolling for a night full of $$$!
Also smiling alone can make you happier, in turn making you more attractive to customers.

Sorry to reiterate, but the best advice is DEFINITELY to smile and look like you're having a good time, all of the time. It can be a lot of work to do this, but that's why we're paid the big bucks.

Also, try to always LOOK BUSY. I just sold a number of dances the other day because I happened to be moving through the club instead of sitting at the bar like the other girls. Even if you're just moving between the dressing room, DJ booth, bar area, stage area, and VIP booths, this gets customers to notice you (at the very least).

Little things count. If you're a shy stripper, then just thank your custies after your sets if they tipped you nicely. I've sold a good number of dances just by going up to a guy and saying "Hi, I just wanted to thank you for the nice tip on stage!" He'll often stop me from walking by and seal my sale for me!

Pick music you enjoy dancing to. Even if the custies hate your music, the energy you give off while dancing to what you love will translate into $$.

Make every VIP dance your best VIP dance. Even if he looks like a stereotype (the Time Waster, the Cheap Mexican), these people will often advertise your dances to their buddies after you finish, and will even occasionally surprise you by continuing to buy dances you thought they wouldn't buy. The most annoying guys often receive the worst dances (since the girls don't like them), but if you do a good job, then you'll stick out to them.

I noticed the 'smile even if you don't want to' and 'look like you're having a good time if you aren't' are longer versions of 'fake it til you make it'.

    Good advice people.

    A few things:

Your main objective in approaching guys is to close the sale, NOT to get them to like you. Building rapport is usually a waste of time.

Act like you're having fun. It's contagious.

Be kind to everyone: customers, management, staff, other dancers... positive energy breeds positive results.

    My mantra:

Approach everyone. Sooner than later. Take their money. Keep moving.

THis is a NECESITY for a minor in Oregon-but a lot of older girls forget it.

STage is advertisement. LOok hot, and try to hook him right THERE while your already naked. Its easier than going back over and "starting from scratch"

Don't get too drunk at work! I have lost out on so much money by either misplacing my purse when I was wasted or by not hustling guys who had money.

Ask every custie you approach for a dance, even if you think they'll say no. There have been times where the custie did not seem interested in me at all-they gave one-word answers to all my questions and barely looked at me, and then when I asked them for a dance, they totally surprised me by saying yes.

Don't buy a lot of nice or expensive outfits when you first start out. You may realize they are not your style after you've been dancing for a few weeks. Buy just one that makes you look and feel great. On that note, also reinvent and improve yourself constantly. If you change clubs frequently you'll pick up on all sorts of new styles and ideas for outfits.

Also, don't be afraid to wear strapless shoes. I find personally that they are much more comfortable and stay on my foot better without sliding around than shoes with straps.

My tip: REMEMBER NAMES. I can't count the number of times a customer from months ago has come in and when I've greeted him by name, he's been so impressed by my memory that he promptly buys a lapdance. Pay extra attention when customers introduce themselves so you'll remember. If you leave the customer sometime during the evening to hustle elsewhere, go back to him later and say "So Mike, how about that lapdance?" It just makes everything more personal and less like business.
