    Default Bhuddist Opinion

I was watching 'The history of Sex' On one of the educational channels and I had discovered that before meditation came around Bhuddist were having sex in order to reach enlightenment. I wanted to find text to back this up, but the only things I'm coming up with is basically 'Karma Sutra.' Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't think that is correct. Maybe they were confusing the practice of Tantric sexuality with Buddhist meditation? As far as I know Buddhist monks are supposed to be celibate. Like from everything except for a strict vegan diet. No alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sex nothing.

Do you know which type of Buddhism it was?
Was there any mention of Taoism (pronounced Dowism)?

I believe that some Buddhists practice a form of tantra. There are three paths of tantra, the right hand path with involves celibacy except for ritual tantric acts, which is still considered being celibate, the middle path, which I have studied extensively if anyone ever wants to ask questions... and the left hand path which involves exploring taboos to pierce the veils of reality, think necrophilia and so on.

I could go on for ever but if anyone has any questions I'm happy to answer them

eta I'm not a buddhist though...

Makes me think of Mantak Chia. If you google "Mantak Chia" you'll see what I mean. I have his books and I think this is what you're talking about. Maybe. It's Taoism btw.
