    Default Braun Silk Epil Xpressive??

So today I went into bed bath and beyond with my 20% off coupon all ready to buy the Braun Silk Epil Xelle that I have read so much about. When I got there I saw they have a newer one called the Xpressive! It says it has "hair lift" technology, plus it is smaller so it looks a lot easier to handle.

Has anyone tried this one yet?? I am a little disappointed that I didnt come home with an epilator today but I want to make sure I get the best one since I am making the investment and hope to have it for a long time...

BTW the Xelle is $70 and the Xpressive is $100

I guess no one has tried this one yet

I think I will buy it--it's rechargable! No cord! I just worry if the 40 mins (I think) you get is enough lol. I dont know if there is a cord to use if you are out of charge, but I doubt it

And I doubt Braun's quality will go backwards!

Now I am even more confused. They had it in the store (I think the pink-not rechargable one)--but not on their site--and its not on braun's american site only global--and the rechargable seems to only be available on amazon.uk. Ahhh so confused!

I want the rechargable one damnit!

I am the only person replying to my own thread lol

I had one of these things for Christmas a few years ago. I used it to pluck out my arm hair for the most part, but eventually went back to shaving. I thought it was gonna hurt really bad, but I barely even felt anything from the hair coming out. My mom has consistantly used the thing for a few years now, and her hair is really fine and doesn't really grow back that much anymore. I just don't have the patience and prefer a closer shave with a razor. Sorry I don't know more about the newer models.

I had a regular Silkepil years ago and used to like using it. I tended to get more and more ingrown hairs the longer I used it though and had to switch to shaving.

It was a great investment for the years I used it though!

Funny you should ask. I was on makeupalley last night and read good reviews for the Braun Epilator and was thinking of buying one. Here's the link http://makeupalley.com/product/showr...ToneType=/ID=/

I'm still trying to figure out if you can use this thing on peach fuzz around your bum and bikini line. I don't want to hurt myself.

I read about the ingrowns--were u doing anything to prevent them??

I read all those reviews--it seems the Xpressive is too new though. And I cant get a clear answer on whether or not the rechargable one is available in the US but I think I saw it online for $150 which is a lot more than I originally planned to spend.

So if I cant get the rechargable one (phooey) do I go for the tried and true cheaper xelle or the new and improved easier to handle bc its smaller and new "hairlift" technology but more expensive xpressive.

    Decisions decisions :-p

I;m not sure what you can do about the ingrowns. It took me many years before I actually had to worry about that. I think it probably has something to do with your skin type.

There is a product that you can use that can help for in grown hairs - it's called Tend Skin. I've never used it so I don't know that results myself!

I have the regular silk epil and love it. I had my legs waxed a few times before i started to use it and it made it much easier.
I find with mine a week or so after i have used it i go over my legs again to catch the little ones i missed. Thats annoying as its not as smooth as i want it to be right away but ive noticed the more i use it the smoother it gets my legs as my hair gets finer and finer.
I might invest in the new one at xmas.
