Default I went as a customer today...

...to a different club in town. This club is considered one of the top strip clubs in my area. It is considered "high class". I went there with my fuck buddy, and great friend, "C".

I was dressed very nice, classy, but also very modest. I wore my glasses to try to be a little more disarming. C is a little older than me, he is a CEO and millionaire (yeah, he is kind of a sugar daddy but that's a whole different story.) He was dressed very conservatively. Neither of us were dressed pretentiously. I told C how to dress which is what I pretty much look for in a customer.

He started a tab and we started on our first round of drinks. The waitress was ok but seemed rather stand-offish. There were not very many people there.

Most of the girls we saw were extremely skinny. I am a small girl, I weigh under 115 pounds and wear a size 0-2 but these girls actually made me feel almost big for the first time in my life. I saw only a handful of dancers who were more than a size 4. Don't get me wrong, I love very petite women, but I like some variety. Most of the girls were very young looking. Just as well, almost everyone, with the exception of 2 dancers, were white. C likes white girls, and is indeed white himself, but he prefers girls with a little more color to them. His ex-wife is Filipina. His ex-gf is Chinese, and his ex before that was Latina. I am black/mixed. It's probably one of the biggest reasons why he has never really cared much for stripclubs since most don't have a wide variety of girls. I don't understand the point of hiring a million girls that all look like clones of each other.

The stage routines were rather boring. The music was all rather blah. I try to put a little more effort than those girls. It wasn't so much that the dancing was bad, but the fact that more than half of these girls didn't interact with the audience. There was no eye contact and one girl almost walked offstage before she realized I was going to tip her. They seemed rather oblivious to everything that was going around them including straight up money that was directly in front of their eyes. The DJ was uninspiring and simply said the girls name when she came on stage. The best DJ at my club could run circles around this guy.

After our first drink, we had a blond girl (who were the majority of girls) just come up to us and ask "Wanna dance?" There still weren't a ton of people yet. We politely told her "Maybe later" (and meant it) and she huffed, rolled her eyes and left. We decided not to get a dance from her.

We sat for a long time and we were not approached. We did see a group of girls sitting at a table by themselves talking to each other. At this point, there were customers coming in but most of us were not being hustled as well as I thought we should. Eventually, there was a very cute girl with short black hair that we both agreed that we liked. She was a tiny thing (as almost all the girls there were), she weighed probably 95 pounds, but we liked her look (very pin up girl esque), and mostly her attitude. She was 26 years old and had already graduated from college with a degree in musical theater. She was a former ballerina and we talked a lot about ballet and music. We tipped her very well for her time as well as getting a couple of table dances from her each. We paid her 20 dollars for the table dances which were only 10 dollars. We decided to do that so that she wouldn't have to pay the house for the dances she did. Pretty much we ended up spending the equivalent of half an hour in VIP on her without her having to pay the house.

C closed the tab and tipped the waitress generously. All of a sudden she was nice as hell to us when she had been cold, distant, and indifferent before hand. It was silly for her to do this especially considering C had already closed the tab. We ended up leaving early.

Most of the other customers were being ignored for the most part. So I don't think it's only because we were a couple.

I am glad that I did this because the only other time I had ever gone to a strip club as a customer was before I had danced. I was able to see exactly why I have consistently made more money than other dancers and it's mostly due to the fact that I am MUCH more observant than they are. I can spot someone with money almost immediatly when the other girls are completely blase. I put more effort in what it is that I am doing. It's silly for pass co-workers of mine to act like I am either fucking the customers or that I am using Jedi mind tricks to have customers spend more money on me. I also saw that strip clubs could be making a lot more money if they didn't have the club so incredibly boring and bland.

See this is what I meant in my other post. It seems nobody wants to be nice for their money anymore until they GET the money!! The same shit happened to Celeste and I... and the girls with personality who smiled and had fun? Got SHOWERED on, baby!

A better DJ, girls with personality and FOR FUCKS SAKE STRIPPERS: You do not smile or be nice ONLY when some guy tips you. You smile and be nice SO a guy will tip you.

^^^seriously....Soooo many girls at my club SIT on the lapdance couch WAITING for someone to come up. Then throw a bitch fit because I danced and THEN customers came up. In fact one girl claimed I do extra's and that's the only reason I get customers on my stage. The manager laughed at her and told her maybe if she got off her lazy ass she'd make some money instead of talking shit about the other dancers. That made me happy

On the way home from the bach party last night me and my friend were discussing the same thing. Girls she has been working with lately have not been nice and tainting the money throwing mood.

I'm pretty sure this has been a leading cause in the decling of the industry. Precious snowflakes thinking they're too good for this shit unless they're being paid FIRST.

Honey, personality doesn't come for money. Money comes for personality.

I have actually witnessed girls loudly declairing their hatred of a race of men IN FRONT OF the men and when being told to quiet said, "What, I'm doing what they paid for, a dance, I'm not being paid to be NICE!"

    ARRRGHHHH!

And we wonder why men are leaving the strip clubs. Maybe because little miss prissy pants is scaring the poor customers away. Seriously, strip clubs aren't really fun places anymore. They're more like... really dark bars with angry naked chicks.

Going to clubs as a customer was always a huge learning experience for me. And sadly, I always learned more from what girls were doing wrong. I had relatively few experiences (in fact, I can recall ONE) where a girl did a really great job hustling and entertaining me and I actually had a better time than I would have had on my own.

We tend to blame the decline of the industry on the customers and the managers, but dancers certainly have some responsibility for making clubs a fun place where customers would WANT to go, and unfortunately a lot of dancers have no clue. I guess this is just the expected result when you hire a lot of very young girls based solely on their looks and dress size, and then expect them to magically transform themselves into talented entertainers.

Also, the "high class" clubs I've been to and worked at have always been the WORST disappointments. I just got done writing about the Men's Club in Dallas in another thread, and it could be the exact club you're describing. It was a big club and the decor was very nice, but that's where the class factor ended. Dancers were boring and not really that hot, beyond being thin and blond; music was terrible; there was no pole on the stage and very few dancers made any effort at all while they were up there; there was no stage tipping and practically no interaction with the audience -- the audience didn't even seem to appreciate or expect interaction...

The whole place was just WOW. Bad. If I had been a customer there, I never would have come back.

ETA: I didn't mean to slam Men's Club dancers so hard. Sounded really bad. There were some absolutely stunning and charming women there. Just, the average girl didn't seem that much hotter to me than the average girl at my middle-of-the-road club back home. From the reputation that club has, I was expecting an army of supermodels, but they were just normally hot hot girls.

I agree with pretty much everyone. It was a very eye opening experience for me. I am sometimes too overly critical of customers and it was good for me to see things from their shoes.

The whole place reeked of a negative vibe. If they just weren't so lazy and would put a little effort into smiling and courtesy it would go a long way. Most of the girls walked around like they were bored at best or with pissy attitudes at worst. With the exception of the one girl C and I ended up getting dances from, the place nearly bored me to tears. No wonder why less and less customers are coming in with such a bland, boring, sterile atmosphere.

On one hand though, I suppose we should all be thankful that most dancers are not the greatest of hustlers so we can run circles around them. Too bad it drives many of the good customers away.

I was recently called a "hatin' ass bitch" and "whore" for succeeding at work & working the room all night. Am I bad for enjoying that? I will go snuggle in my big pile of cash and think it over.

Edit to add- I do recall working clubs in California where making money was like pulling teeth- maybe there is something going on at this "upscale" place to make the girls sour and pissy...like, is it a Deja Vu club?

I am finding that most of the snotty, eye-rolling, "I'm too good for you" dancers are new and young. Which really bothers me! When I started dancing, I was so excited for the opportunity (money, freedom, dressing up hot LOL). The jaded attitude I am seeing in these young new dancers is shocking. I am constantly seeing and hearing things like
wanna dance? no? *roll eyes, storm off*
"God, today SUCKED. I only made $(insert large amount of $$ here)"
"I would have made more but those guys are all losers"
"....and then that OLD chick stole him from me..." (talking about a 25yr old)

How can you be stuck-up and jaded already? It's your second day!

I hate to stereotype, but most of the girls I am thinking of are skinny, blonde, and well....skinny and blonde. Which is strange to me, I'm skinny and blonde and never felt the need to be a pissy little bitch

And shit, if anyone derserves to have an attitude, it should be us dancers who have been dancing for years....after all we've been through, we should be throwing hissyfits daily like these girls! But wait, I guess we are too busy actually working and making money. And smiling

I agree that it's not too hard working with these girls, most guys seem relieved to talk to someone with a personality. But the overall vibe is definitly driving people away.

Sigh.... ah, stripping, what has happened to you??

I agree, nobody should have the attitude that just by stepping foot in the club, people should throw hundreds at you.. I wish things worked that way!! But sadly... well... they don't.

but apparently they do for some girls, otherwise they wouldn't develop that attitude. some chicks DO get 100s thrown at them despite and sometimes FOR being rude and dismissive of customers.

The diva attitude does work for some customers and some dancers. I can normally gauge my personality and change it accordingly for each customer. But when 90% of the strippers are doing it and the whole club reeks of it, its no longer a hustle.
