    Default My tan..face..

Ive made it a point to go to the beach every day after school. My body is super tan, but my face doesnt hold the tan more than 2 days. I know this happens to a lot of people. Why and how do I keep it. Moisturize maybe since i wash my face every night? But i wash my body every night too and that doesnt "fade" ???

^^^ Yeah, supposedly moisterized skin tans better. You can get special tanning lotion for your face too that has tint in it and that helps.

my face doesnt tan either, hell look at my avatar lol.

i used to go in the face bronzer beds and it didnt help, except maybe in getting me some fine lines. i try the face fake tan stuff, but it always looks blotchy.

i just get foundation that is a couple shades darker then my face to match my body and try to blend it liberally.

i've found success in mixing darker foundation with my daily lotion. it's less fake looking.

Just mix until you like the color.

You can also try using a self-tanner for a few hours when your face is clean and you're not wearing moisturizer or makeup. Or, you can apply it, let it dry, and then put makeup on over it. If you apply it with a makeup sponge, you will get a more even result. You could also try airbrush tanning solution instead of a cream lotion for faster drying and a sheerer coverage. The color is frequently more realistic too.

The bottom line is that no matter what kind of tan you put on your face, it won't last long because faces exfoliate very quickly. Just the way it is.

Are you wearing makeup or lotion while tanning? They both have SPF in them.

I make sure to give my face a good clean before tanning.

are u talking about fake tanner or real tan. im assuming real tan coz you mentioned going to the beach. i dont think the skin on the face can get as dark as the body because it's more delicate?

This happens to me too. My stomach gets super dark and everywhere else is like a shade lighter. My face is like 2 shades lighter. A pain in the ass, for sure.

Forgot to add that the only time my face really does get dark is if I go to the beach and accidentally burn. Definitely not good, but its the only way.

Definitely use fake tanner or a darker foundation instead of trying to fry your face. Your skin has a cutoff for tan, depending on your specific background and skin type. Anything after that and your destroying your skin for nothing.

I always cover my face when I'm tanning indoors or out. Just find a good bronzer or fake tanner to blend the color if its that off, but I think peoples faces always look more natural when they're a subtle shade lighter than the rest of your body.

Please don't use a darker foundation... you can see those telltale signs in your scalp!!!

If you are using an exfoliating wash like St. Ives apricot scub, that will take layers of your skin off and hence peel off your tan.
