    Default Sad customer...

I had a very sad customer tonight. We had some fun together, but this is someone that I know. He's got an inoperable brain tumor and has literally only got a few weeks to live. He's a generally nice guy, but he has no family and no real friends, and so he spent some time crying to me in VIP tonight about how he doesn't want to die, and he's afraid to die alone. And then he says that he wishes he had lived a better life, and he's afraid to die because of all the bad things he's done in his life.

    It's really sad.

But on the other hand, I'm glad that I was able to be there for him to listen to him and (hopefully) to help him forget for a little bit.

Well, you have to have more info before you judge him...The end stages of terminal cancer are so harrowing & emotionally draining that many loved ones need long breaks from caregiving. You have to witness it to understand it.

As for the OP, I'd tell this customer to be glad he has a chance to make peace with God/Life/Others before he passes- some people don't get that luxury.

Man, this is sad. Every day above ground is a good day.

he could be trying to play you??

i had a custy once cry to me, telling me his wife had just passed away, and he was away on business so he didn't get to say goodbye. he told me i looked alot like her and wanted to spend time/$ on me. so, of course i believed him... he was playing on my emotions.

later that night he asked me about going out to dinner. i declined... and he acted like it was okay. he came back the next night, spent a chunk of change, and asked about dinner again. he became extremely pushy and i left him alone after that.

the following week i saw him in the club again. i smiled at him as i walked by, and he smiled as well. the dj said something to the effect of "don't get excited, that's XXXX's customer." i was like, NO, dude, he's mine. and i went on stage and the fucker ignored me... and was sitting with another girl. he seriously had downgraded from me, and i know why. she was willing to see him OTC.

so.... take what he says with a grain of salt.

Yeah, if a customer told me this line I'd have a hard time believing it to be true. Sounds like a ploy to get in your panties.

    I doubt I'd believe him.

This guy is very well-known around here. He used to be another girl's regular, and he's been coming around here for about 2 years. He also used to manage another local SC, so he's well-known. In this guy's case, it's totally legit.

I have a really sweet customer who is very sick. He has some sort of kidney and liver malfunction. The last few times he's been in he's talked about "not being around" and stuff. But he is very upbeat and has a bizarre sense of humor about it all, like he's accepted it. He has been sickly his whole life, so I suppose his mortality has always been very real to him.

But I will miss him when he's gone.

I don't know how people end up with no friends or family. This may be harsh, but you have to kind consciously TRY to not have anyone in your life. This guy is not a Charles Dickens' 19th century orphan, how does he have NO ONE?
