Last night, a customer asked me to play pool with him. Since I know this customer is normally a decent $$$ customer (but likes to hang out) and it was still pretty early, I agreed. He asked me, "What are we playing for?" I told him, "If you win, you get a free lapdance." He said, "And if you win?" I said, "Then you pay me for the lapdance!" He laughed and we played a few games. In the end he won two games and lost four, so he got a total of 6 dances. He paid $80 (for the four games he lost) and then asked for a seventh dance (paid), so he spent $100. It means I had to do an extra 2 dances for the $100, but I still got $100 (plus he tipped me $1s and $5s the whole time we were back there).
Then I sat with a customer who was engrossed in a UFC match. We talked about who we thought would win, and I made him a bet that "my guy" would win (same stakes: free LD vs. paid LD). I lost. As we walked back to VIP, he told me, "I was going to buy some LDs from you anyways," and I said, "I was going to give you some LDs anyways, so it all works out." I danced his one "free" one, and then asked him, "Since you got that one free, do you want me to stop, or do you want to go ahead and pay for a couple since we're already back here?" He ended up buying three more ($60) and also tipping $10.
It's a gamble, as they may very well just take the free one and be happy with it, but I found that if they weren't interested in an LD in the first place, they'd refuse to "bet" with me. And it's also a good way to deal with the pool sharks and the sports fanatics and still get some money out of them.
