Default I planted an organic garden

So hubby and i had a discussion about being more "green".
He said he won't compromise on the kind of cars he drives (he gets about 12 mpg ) but he would like to make other changes that would help us live more earth friendly.

So we planted an organic veggie and herb garden this weekend. We used manure as fertilizer and i planted, tomatoes, beans, eggplant, squash, zucchini, green and red peppers, jalapenos and tobasco peppers for hubby, cucumbers, basil and cilantro.

It was actually really great to be outside in our yard actually utilizing the beautiful land we live on.

SO now i'm excited to see if anything grows!
I am REALLY excited to "eat off our land"

We planted 5 weeping cherry trees a few weeks ago (my mothers day present )
I'm also going to plant some flowers in the front of the house.
Maybe some roses and flowering bushes. I'm really trying to make our house a home if you know what i mean.

    Anyone else gardening this year?

    Here are some pics

    My gardens

View down the driveway, you can see some of the cherry trees on the right and left of the driveway. I really want to put flowering bushes along the forest line. Maybe azaleas

I think i'm going to do roses in front of the white railing on the porch and maybe a small tree under the windows to the left

Your home is beautiful. Weeping cherry trees with be so wonderful in a few years.

We had to downsize our garden this year, so no melons or squashes for me. All I have this year are tomatoes (red and yellow pears), strawberries, serrano peppers, and a bunch of herbs (thyme, rosemary, mint, spicy thai basil, tarragon, oregano, italian parsley and chives).

I've got some herbs, cayenne peppers, and grapette tomatoes. I can't wait until I have a house with a big yard for gardening. Eventually (in the next 10 years or so) K and I want to buy a big chunk of land in the country to live on, grow our own organic veggies, and raise chickens. It's such a rewarding way to live!

^^They do look like graves! Still, that's very cool. I used to have a porch garden for catnip, basil, and stuff. Dinner at PV's house!

I planted peppers (green, red, jalapeno, cayenne), zucchini, peas, beets, cauliflower, broccoli, and a few varieties of tomatoes. And I haven't used any pesticides, so I guess it's organic too.

And these are from a few weeks ago, it's really growing fast with all of the rain we've been having. I'll take new pics as soon as we have a sunny day.
