    Default News on Nashville

    Hey ladies,

Just wondering if there is a law in Nashville still that requires dancers to get liscences?

And for those of you that even dance in other states that make you get liscences. Is it public record with your real name and picture in the states data base? Or what all does the state require for you to show proof of? Social Security card, etc?

    Thanks,
    DQ

Yes, you still have to get a license to dance in Nashville. The wait time the last time I checked was at least 30 days from when you applied. As far as what they needed from me, I had to have 2 forms of ID, at least 1 with a photo. They fingerprinted me and took a mug shot too, and yes, it was my real name and stuff that got put on them. It comes up on a criminal background check, or at least it did for me.

Dancing in Nashvillle blows, it isn't worth the price of a permit IMO. There are a couple clubs out in the boonies less than an hour from Nashville that have decent money though...

    GL,

Thanks for the info. I'm not down with that lisencing just so really the city can make some money off me for paying for the liscense. I just don't think its nessary for them to have all the info on me.

So are you saying outside of Nashville there are places I can go to dance? I mean with out driving to Memphis or KY...can you suggest a place that's decent and doesn't require a liscense.

Thanks so much for your time. Happy travels to you too

Actually another question. Do the clubs actually make you show them your liscense? Or can you just say you have one? Thanks, DQ

The clubs I worked at made a copy of my license when I started working, so I don't think they would let you just say you have one.

The club I was at most recently was in bum fuck nowhere, but it was busy and the girls were making money. It's Midnight Express in Smithville. Other than that you'd have to drive to KY or somewhere else in TN to make money. I'm sure there are a few other clubs around these parts, I just don't know where they are.

Always have your license. Don't lie about it.

A bunch of girls that I worked with out in AZ got arrested for prostitution because they didn't have theirs. (The club had gotten really lax about checking for them).

I mean, which would you rather have on your record?

It appears that I am going to be stranded in Nashville for another week-ugh! I went to Christie's Cabaret last night and the doorman said that you do not need a license to work in Nashville. Does anyone know for sure one way or the other?

^^It's on the books as still being in effect, and I just talked to 2 managers at seperate clubs and both said you need to have a permit to dance. I honestly wouldn't risk it because if I remember right, if you get caught without a permit the charge is something along the lines of prostitution or some crazy bullshit like that. I have the actual code booklet somewhere around my house.

That's so jacked up that they would go as far to possibly charge one with prositiution! That's lawmakers with too much time on their hands for ya! Not focusing on the real issues at hand..ie drug dealers, funding education, etc!!

It really bums me out about the liscense thing. I have family far off in the law enforcment and would hate for them to look me up and see that I have an adult entertainers liscense. Its just something I don't want to deal with.

Well that sucks. I have no idea what I'm going to do with the rest of my time in Nashville (my fiance is in town for work.) Does anyone know of anything fun to do in Nashville? I can't believe they lied to me about not needing a permit!
