    Default Pureology

I have been using pureology shampoo and conditioner for almost two years now. I normally use the hydrating line but was wondering in the nano shampoo and conditioner are worth the hiked up price. I mean if I am going to be paying $40-$50 a bottle I want it to be worth it. I know the bottles last a really long time but still.

Also has anyone used the pureolgy clarifying shampoo?? My hair is REALLY oily and I was wondering if something like that would be too harsh to use everyday on color treated hair. I literally have to use a dry shampoo in the middle of the day to make my hair look not so greasy. However my hair is pretty healthy other than being oily...so at least that is good I guess.

I thought of trying something else besides pureology but most stylists seem to think it's the best shampoo and conditioner out there. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am almost out of shampoo and conditioner so I need to decide what to buy fast !

Here is a pic of my hair...sorry for the weird no face thing...I'm kinda shy about posting my face.

if your hair is that oily you obviously cant be using the right shampoo/conditioner for YOU.

Yeah...that is sort of what I think too but the last three times I have gotten my hair colored the stylist never has a new recommendation for me. They always say "use purelogy...it's the best" . This was at two different salons.

i cant understand why they would tell you to use something that obviously isnt working. i would try something else. what do you have to lose? you already arent happy with the way your hair is.

and about clarifying shampoos.. as far as i know they arent good for regular use on colored hair.

Well for one--hydrating isnt for oily hair its for dry hair--it makes oily hair oily-er

Clarifying may be too harsh in the opposite direction.

Go with a shampoo for normal hair.

I wouldnt pay that kind of money if it wasnt making my hair look amazing

Does your salon sell pureology? If so I can guess why they recommend it...

A lot of ppl like redken here (I am so so..they tend to make me oily) Also lots of fans of TIGI here, Joico.. tons of brands out there besides pureology

If you want to stay at the high end of high end you have fredderic fekkai, ojon..

I LOVE Puerology! I have not used the clarifying shampoo, but I use another clarify-er with amino acids that I rotate with the Pureology and I swear it makes an awesome difference. As much as I love Pureology, it can be a little heavy for my thin hair sometimes, so alternating with a clarifying shampoo really helps.

i like tigi stuff when i go for that stuff. also redkin allsoft but that may be too much for your oily hair.

in terms of "regular" shampoo, which tbh i really like just as much, and not to be cocky or anything lol but i have gorgeous, super soft, long hair.. i like dove a lot, and sometimes sunsilk. why not try something like that and see what it does to your hair? if you dont like it, you only wasted $12-ish.

Ive tried all of the pureology line and the only two I like are nano and the volume one. That would probably work good for you because its not as hydrating. You could switch between all 3 of those. I wouldnt pay 45 a bottle for the nano though Ive been buying the last of a salon by me thats selling the shampoo and cond for 45. Ive experimented with others and another good line to try is enjoy. The company is supposedly some people who were from pureology so its suppose to be similar. I like the hydrating one best but the luxury one is good too and its half the price of pureology.

I love the Nano line, it's awesome... Basically, it's claim to fame is that it will get your hair as close to a virgin state as it can get in 6 shampoos. It's great for those who beat up thier hair- coloring as well as mechanical damage from heat styling. I use it once a week, the rest of the time I use the volumizing line. When I color my hair, I'll use Nano for a week.

I agree with Michele, you need to switch from Hydrating to Volumizing. You may also be intrested in Redken's Clear Moisture line. It's light, clean rinsing hydration.

Clarifying shampoo is not for daily use.
