    stupid question RE excema/acne

OK so i've ALWAYS had great skin. Barely had any acne as a teen.

Except for one thing. Particularly when I'm stressed, I get excema, or irritated redheads on my chest, and my ass. Lately its been less on my chest, and more on my ass. I'm REALLY self conscious about it. I wonder if it might be from all the germs at work from stage, since its DEFINITELY gotten worse in the few years, when i was doing nude modeling, but evne more in the past year, when i started dancing.

Its like not the exposed whitehead type acne, just smallish red irritations, like an ingrown hair without hte hair. Some of them swell up a fair amount under the skin, some of them stay small and appear more like a rash.

Is there an OC cream for it? Or somethign i can do to help prevent it? One of the girls i work with recommended putting rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer on it after stage, to disinfect, but i didn't notice that having any real effect.

    Anyone else deal with this?

Try calendula lotion, aka pot marigold cream. (Calendula officinalis) You can find it in health food stores. I'm super sensitive to scent and chemicals and that stuff works wonders when my eczema or dermatitis sets in.

When I break out in hives I put that stuff on and poof!
It's even made me less sensitive to i.e. cats since I started using it like five months ago.

If you can't find it there is always hydrocortisone, but calendula is awesome for it's all purposefulness. It's so soothing for everything.

Try washing with hibaclens over the affected areas. Don't scrub with it, just a gentle wash or else you'll inflame it more.

There is a prescription clindamyacin creme that really helps with that.

If you sweat even a little, change your clothes: something wet resting on the skin anywhere can bring out this stuff. It's a pain, but if you're in full flare with these things, you'll help yourself.

omfg. I KNOW exactly what you are talking about.

I use selsun blue and it helps the area. I also was prescribed olux foam for my scalp dermatitis which helps but you are talking about your chest area.

I get the same thing on my chest and I use a selsun blue shampoo and a salicylic acid liquid from cvs used for the scalp. That usually clears it up.

I have been prescribed pandel cream for it too and that helped once or twice but lost its effectiveness.
