I just had a couple rounds of crampy, acidic diarrhea that left me with gooseflesh, cold sweats, and feeling lightheaded. This happens every month. I also have IBS, which is also not fun. Hey, you can't say that I'm full of shit.
I read in my nursing textbook that menstruation involved building up the endometrial lining, but the circulation is cut off when the egg is not fertilized. This causes ischemia, or tissue death, and the lining is menstruated out. Basically, you have necrotized tissue inside of you, which causes an inflammatory response. This includes diarrhea and overall icky feelings.
Does anyone else get diarrhea during Aunt Flo's visit?

It makes you overlook certain character flaws and bad behavior .
