    Default Hip problem

So like 3 years ago when I was cocktail waitressing, one day my hip started to hurt severly bad. I walked with a limp and went to urgent care, who did an xray said look snormal, take these vicodens.

What was happening is that with each step I take, it feels like my hip pops in and out of the socket. I can feel the clicking, and if you put your hand on my hip, you can feel it popping in and out as well. It can also be heard if you listen closely.

Eventually, the pain went away, but the problem never did. As a result of walking on it and never being treated properly, it made that whole side of my leg weaker than my other leg, and my other leg began to overcompensate for it. I walk funny now, I assume because of this compensation. It's almost as if that leg is slightly shorter than the other now. ( that's how it feels when I walk)

Well, as a result of all that, my knee on that leg is now sore all the time...because of extra pressure? because of walking out of alignment for years? I don't know why...

So once I danced for an orthepedic surgon and told himmy issue and put his hand on my hip so he could feel what i was talkign about. he said that my hip bone is slipping over and undr the tendon and that is what's causing the clicking sensation. He said it isn't as big deal if it doesn't hurt, and that it can onyl be fixed with surgery.

Well...that's the problem. I can't afford surgery. however...now I'm starting back into nursing, wher eI will be walkign 8 hours a day, bending, lifting, and so forth. I'm worried I will aggrivate this even further and eventually really fuck myself up.

It was never much of an issue dancing, because I only worked 2 or 3 days a week for 5 or 6 hours, and got plenty of rest. nothign like the fast pace running all over a hospital.

So...My quetion is....does anyone else have this condition? What can I do to treat it in the meantime to not make it worse? And since it is now aggrivating my knee, what can I do aside from take ibuprofin every day to keep this pain away? In the mornings, my knee is very stiff, and if I sit for too long it becomes stiff. I walk with a severe limp until the pain and stiffness goes away. But if I walk for long periods of time, the soreness returns.

So does anyoen know anythign I can do to help allieviate this problem until I have insurance and can get it taken care of for good?

Go to a chiropractor and a reflexologist.

    Seriously.

I"m in a similar boat with my knee. It's been 6 years since the initial injury. Sorry to threadjack.
I use ibuprofen and ice it. That's all I've been doing for a long time.

Get orthodicts for your shoes. My one hip is higher than the other. When I walk my one leg feels shorter. Get massages and go to the chiropractor. Its caused from wearing heels and car accidents.
